Fell down today, too...

Not the Nokian's fault at all. Driver issue.

I came up on an angle to what looked like a ramp onto path, and whoosh! The front wheel followed the edge of the curb that had been concealed under a fresh snow drift, and down I went. Got my arms out, and luckily slid on impact, with no injury (a little bruised on my elbow).

Be careful out there!

Glad you are OK!

One problem with snow is that it can hide potholes, curbs and other depressions.

You live you learn. Unfortunately it takes a fall or some near falls to understand the lesson.

Yeah, winter riding seems to have dramatically more falling than riding in the other seasons. Fortunately though, at least for me, the falls in the winter seem to be much more graceful or cushioned by the snow.

me too. Transitioning from street to MUP. I think the tires still had some slush on them from the road and this greased the hard pack on the MUP. I do have studs but was obviously going too fast for them. No injuries save a slightly bruised knee and my pride.

My first winter fall was today.. if there was a way to stay up, I don't know it. I had rutted ice covered with the brown sugar snow. It was one of those rare day when I could have benefited from a more aggressive stud. Fortunately the road was better on the shoulder in the section where I was, so I wasn't out in traffic like I normally would be. I actually had a car stop and hold up traffic next to me until I got up. I think they wanted to make sure I was OK. They didn't say anything though.

I fell last week. Unclipped both sides at the same time, like an idiot, and then overbalanced and the bike slid out from underneath me on the icy driveway. I landed on my knee, then my bike landed on the other side of the knee. owie!
