Does your Schwalbe wobble?

I am waiting to hear back from biketiresdirect on this, but it's weird: I mounted both tires (Schwalbe Winter Marathons) and gave 'em a spin, and they wobble, side to side, up and down. Not a lot, but enough to make me wonder if I got a bum set. I deflated them and checked the tubes; no problem there. Is this normal or should I make them do an exchange?

sounds like the tire bead is not seating properly on the rim.
run some soapy water on the tire bead to get it to slip into place while inflating.

Yes, try remounting the tire as AEO suggests.

A small, very small, amount of wobble is expected.

You could also ride them for 100 miles or so, then remove and re-mount them. They tend to get a little bent out of shape during shipping. It's normal.

thanks, dc . wasn't sure a new set would be the answer anyway.

Don't know about the marathons, but the snow studs are a bit of a pig to get settled on the rim. Soapy water, or even dunking the tire in some fairly warm water for a while has helped.

The Marathon Winters can be a pain as well.

I've noticed that if I hold the wheel off the ground when pumping the first couple dozen PSI into the tube I'm less likely to have to deal with a flat spot later on.

Both my snow studs have a wobble, and both my cx pro do as well.
