at least you can't blame your losses solely on the numbers anymore

Um, are you aero like a barn door? I've won sprints (in endurance events) on the track and can easily finish top five in local crit field sprints, and I've never cracked 1300

But the lifting days 2-4 times per week for the last ten are all in as 0 tss days, so... It's so much nonsense.

If you can shake free February 13 you should go race track in Milton, that place is beautiful.

Just being facetious. I'm all stoked at the progress I've been making lately is all. Up until 3 weeks ago I had broken 1200 for 1sec max 1x ever, and today my max 5sec was 1239. So, yay

I've won two break sprints this year. Well, 3rd of 4 and 1st of 2 so wins in my books. I now feel qualified to say "timing is everything" and that anyone can win any sprint. Good luck.

I had my TT bike today so did my zwift ride outside. 3 miles at 2% makes for a good effort. I paced well the first two and tried to go all-out on the final one. Ended 1w less. Wind was picking up. Interesting that it's so consistent given that I didn't have more than a PE target. Tried not to look at the power.

This. Timing and figuring out how to be where you need to be at the right time. It helps if you're big like an ox like myself and can go wherever you want.

Congrats, I will never see 1300 in my life. Max ever recorded is 1074. Probably at least an even chance that's a Stages glitch or mismeasurement, too.

Highest I ever saw was 1350. 1300 for 5 sec. I think I hit 1000 for 30 secs once. It dropped off a cliff after that.

40 mins on the trainer today.

My sprint numbers are real similar to yours RTC.

I'm 155lbs, could lose 5 more.

Hit 1800+ once and 5s is a bit over 1500. That was at about 185ish lbs. Have been working rather diligently at reducing body weight and increasing FTP to be around to be able to sprint. Weight has come down ~7 pounds, but FTP is a gray area after losing a handful of weeks due to crashing and hurting my shoulder. Will test to tomorrow to see where things stand. Best I've hit in a sprint since returning to the bike this month is around 1400.

That's my 30s number. I'd trade it for your 390-ish hour climbing power though.

Woke up at -29. On the TSB side I generally hit -40 or so when I'm on summer vacation and riding and hiking hours and hours more than usual. I'm used to negative in the preseason, and tend to stay neutral to positive once racing begins to get serious. This is a bit deeper hole though, but with a planned week of rest it's calculated.

Regarding sprint e-wang, I think Teddy Roosevelt had the right of it: "Do what you can, with what you've got, where you are."
