Long ride on Saturday. 3 flats on the road and one in the garage after I stopped. It was bizarre. All of the sudden the presta valve just started to piss air. Anyway, I still got some good riding in.

Did BMX for my first time in forever last night. I thought it would be good sprint practice. It is, but man do I suck at it. I'll make it something regular for training, I think. I get a good, completely different workout while spending time with my kids. Not much downside.

10' over/unders then 3x8' just below LTHR, total w/o about 1:10.

First day of Base 3 and I was stuck inside on account of snow. The rest of the week is looking pretty hit-or-miss as well.

Good times!

I went out and did Mercer Isle yesterday to stretch the legs, they still hurt from Sat's hill ride... yowza.

2 weeks ago was 13.5hrs. Took Sun-Wed off as the last ride I did almost pushed me over the edge.

Thurs was 29mi, 2800ft of climbing, 18.8mph, at mostly endurance pace.
Friday was off, with a lot of walking.
Saturday was 2 hours of punchy little climbs at endurance pace. 18.8mph.
Sunday was off, too cold to want to ride.
Today was endurance with loooong climbs. 57mi, 5300ft of climbing, 19.3mph. Lots of wind.

Just commuting today. There is a bit of pain in my left ear and some coughing due to post nasal drip. Something bad is going on in my sinuses. No need to ride any more today because it was supposed to be super easy regardless.

And I can always ride tomorrow. Even if it is raining.

Spent my lunch hour filling tanks for this weekend's check-out dives, then another hour this evening moving tanks around in the locker. Coupled with my weight work-out this morning, I'm sore.

Off today. Ran out of daylight and had a lot to get done. This week and then maybe a bit of next wee will be ridiculous in terms of business and then it should be back to normal for a bit (I hope). Peeps at the ORC Saturday race better beware...I'm going to be taking the stressful week out there

1.5 hours today. Went hard out of the blocks for an hour. Ended it with an IF of just over 1.0. The following thirty minutes were spent spinning. It felt good.

Off today. Kids were out of school and my wife was working, so my big effort was a couple sets of pullups on the monkey bars at the park.

I am real lazy this morning. I've already snoozed for an hour just laying half awake and spooning.

I am considering doing an additional ab workout (my routine is 2x/week) and maybe 45 min or so on the trainer instead of doing a tempo ride into work.

It's V-day and I am racing Sat + Sun this weekend so I wouldn't feel to bad about skipping it today. March is planned to be a big base month for me anywayz with threshold intervals during the week and 6,7 and 8 hour weekends.

Lazy this morning? I'm lazy every morning

March is base month? What about Murrieta and San Dimas? I would say those races are well suited for you ...

Maybe. I've decided right now to skip those races and just focus on gaining a lot of fitness during march. I like crits, but I might change my mind.

RE training schedule:
This morning it was an ab workout and I will likely ride @ lunch.

Tomorrow i'm hoping to beat the rain and get 2+hrs in on the way to work on my fixed gear.
Thur should be back to the morning hammerfest.

I hit my start button later than I wanted...5:16 AM. Got my 1 1/2. Learned it's damned tough to ride rollers when it's dark. The screen on my Garmin was too bright and I couldn't see anything below it. It's not like I just watch the front tire, but with no visual clues, it's really tough. I guess tomorrow morning I get some sort of light on my back porch.

Just under an hour of big gear hill work on my slop bike. Man, the five extra pounds on that thing make this a whole different type of w/o.
