Drove home yesterday (10 hours). Got up early this morning and did 2 hours including a 2x20 at 98 & 99%. Felt good.

Now sitting on a plane.

90 minutes yesterday, 90 minutes today. Just kinda riding. Weight is still coming down. Down about 11 lbs from 221 to 210. Not sure where the rest of it is gonna come from, I'm feeling rather skinny.

happy 4th, everyone!

got back on the bike yesterday for the first time since last weekend. wasn't sure how the back would hold up. it hurt, but not really any more than walking...so i don't see much of a problem there. i think i'll be ok as long as i stay away from running.

got ambitious and decided to go for a long ride this afternoon. terrible idea. it was about a million degrees out. i felt slow and out of shape after a week off, overheated really badly, got a flat tire, got chased by a really persistent bee, almost went down on a patch of sand, and took a wrong turn. but i rode, i survived (after about 3 hours, i wasn't sure if i would), and my back didn't hurt too much.

think i'll take tomorrow off, though.

62 mile metric century today with about 100 other people, finished in 3 hours 45 mins we stopped to eat breakfeast, that took just over a half hour, so really I finshed in 3 hours 15 mins.

It's hot for about anywhere, not just by TO standards. It looks like it will cool down on Saturday, though.

I hear you on the skinny part, 190 this morning, my son thinks I am anorexic. I do however look like a cyclist now - not sure if that is good or bad...

Another hour easy this morning. Just a little bit harder than yesterday, and felt a lot better since it was only 80 degrees and not 100.

I always said that my 175 pounds is everyone else's 150 (pretty dense guy both mentally and physically)
All my size 34 jeans are far too big and will need to shop again. When I wrecked in 2010 my surgeon said I have one of the biggest bone structures he has ever seen.
You're a FB friend - I look at least 30 pounds lighter than I did in my pics.

2:10 of Z2/Z3 yesterday. Originally planned on 4x10 in the middle but it was just way too hot and humid for that kind of malarkey. I went through four bottles as it was, and could've used a fifth.

Someone on BF once said that bike racing is just an expensive eating disorder. This conversation supports that assertion.

That is only the least of it. Unless you are the spawn of a Wookie you have to train 15 to 20 hours per week to be even competitive. And by competitive I mean that you might win as much as you pay for entries for a season. Some do better, but most do much worse. This whole endeavour makes no economic sense for the vast majority of us.

I still love this sport even though I have no talent for it.

track racing. Caddy in one race. Tasted blood in two races. First and fourth sucked. It was fun, as usual.

Blaargh, just finished Monday-Friday 19 hours 5 minutes of riding (n.b., that's time while wheels were turning). That's all.
