Yes. Very light sleep and very little fatigue. When I move up to the next dosage, which is planned for on the 24th, I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse. At the beginning I almost didn't need sleep. I've adapted some, but last night, for example I was in bed at 1, woke up at 4 and up for the day at 6:30.

TUE app is not in yet, but I'm putting in for one. The current rule is not banned out of competition. Banned during racing. I don't know if that means with a TUE or you don't need a TUE if you don't take it the day of a race.

Down to 202 flat this morning. That makes it 15 pounds since the second week in January. I know it's good progress but I felt like screaming at the scale this morning - COME ON 199! As my wife says, focus on the process, not the weight.

Kick ass!!!! Throw a 15 pound weight in a backpack and ride around fora few minutes to get a real feel for what you've done.

This is great, I love it. I'm up (20 lbs) from 2010 but from Oct 2009 - Jan 2010 I lost about 30 lbs, about 40 from my normal winter weight. Carrying around a 38 lbs full propane tank (once I'd lost the weight) put things in perspective for me. Unfortunately I'm carrying around a 20 lbs empty tank and I can't put it down.

My bro and his wife talk about the "meat vest", where you have a light vest and you fill the pockets with the weight you lost worth of meat. For me, 30 lbs of ground beef (at 20% fat, let's be honest, not the 7% expensive stuff).

15 lbs of ground beef in your meat vest.

Thanks guys! It's been hard work and sometimes the road seems so long to travel to get to my destination. Oh instant gratification - how I hate you!

The "meat vest" - I love it! I did pick up a 15lb dumbbell this morning. It's pretty amazing how heavy that little sucker felt, especially when I think of it as FAT on my body. Yuck. I also made the mistake of picking up a big ole' 45lb dumbbell - holy *****! I've got all that and more to still lose?? Arg.

Hey CDR - if I can do it, you can do it. Love reading your blog and watching the vids - thanks man!

I'm not actively trying to lose weight anymore. Work is hurting ride time and traveling with work is the kiss of death in terms of food (although I'm still trying to be good). Got on the scales this morning. 135#. WTF, I'm losing weight? I'm not riding as much and I'm eating more. It's probably not a long term thing, but it certainly wasn't expected.

So at 135# I'm assuming your nick is either ironic or made quite some time ago? ;-)

More proof that cyclist fat = normal person skinny. I was feeling fat and disgusted after getting dropped on a climb during an intra-team race. Noticed my old letter jacket in closet. It fits perfectly. I have a feeling not many of my Class of '85 teammates can do the same.

(But yes, I still need to lose 5-10 lbs to hang with the front group on that climb.)

So I've started trying to lose 15 lbs before the season. I am eating 1800-1900 calories per day and doing 6 hours on the trainer plus 2 weight workouts each week. Also doing the 100 pushup challenge (in week 5). My first weight is a little inflated because I ate a huge steak, potato, and a bunch of cookies the night before I started. I am wondering if I am losing weight too fast.

Daily weights:
2/13 175.5
2/14 173.7
2/15 172.3
2/16 172.1
2/17 171.7
2/18 171.4
2/19 171.2
Took 2 days off for an inerview/travel
2/21 172.4
2/22 170.9
2/23 169.4
2/24 168.4

Does this look too fast? The weight has just started coming off pretty quickly.

Hey, if you are in the zone and it feels ok, it probably is fine.

^ +1

If you're carrying around extra weight, and you get into a "zone", it comes off rapidly. There was one Jan/Feb, a few years back, where I shed about 20 lbs (but I was 215+ when I started), and I wasn't even dieting, I just rode lots.

Having said that, I gave up on my weight loss biz. Now I just want to not get shelled.

I'm down about 4# total since starting up the slow carb thing 3.5 weeks ago, and that includes putting 3 pounds of muscle on in the gym. Been feeling pretty good too, even with all of the personal drama.

Saturdays are my off day, I had deep dish pizza last night. Yummy stuff, but this morning I was back to the routine (scrambled eggs with spinach, 2c of coffee).

Even though the number was a bit better, I'm rounding down and calling this week "dropped 1 #".

I haven't monitored or tried to lose weight. Got on the scale and was 153 which is in the range of where I was when I was killing myself to lose weight.

Down 5 after cutting Nutella and Ice Cream out of the diet two weeks ago.

5 more to 160, and I'd be a happy camper.

10 more would be nice, but I REALLY miss my Nutella...

I'm done with killing myself to lose weight too. I'm heavier than I thought would ever be acceptable to me, but my pants still fit and I need to focus on getting fast(er).
