I'm sitting here at my computer and it's about 55 out, clear skies, no wind, and the closest I can get to riding is following the text updates from Amstel Gold. #codgerswhowhineaboutbrokenbones

I'm planning on getting in a 4/5 hour ride at around 12. Right now i'm doing a tiny bit of homework.

Thanks for the b-day wishes, it means a lot. 60, I never thought about being 60, just too much to think about when you haven't even grown up yet.
I hope someone sends me a picture of that cake, I didn't bring a camera.

Happy birthday John. 60 and bike racing. So cool.
Happy easter everyone! I don't celebrate, but I'm looking forward to the sale on the Dove chocolate eggs. So much for my race-weekend weight loss.

Rode about 10 miles with my daughter, at about 7 mph.
But that's 7 mph faster than her curled up on the sofa under a blanket having a panic attack, so I'll take it.

I saw Herbie and Mikey yesterday. I couldn't quite place Herbie being in RI, and saw Mikey on the start line of the 1,2,3. It was all kinda surreal at that point.

was nice to meet you. you're much less intimidating in real life, minutes after burying yourself for an hour.

You did seem a bit confused, maybe it was the schock of hitting the fresh air as you were coming out of the porta-john.

doing afternoon races has it's benefits, the condition of the port-johns is not one of them.

The air is a little less rarified up here in Charleston, RI.
Ndxt time you're in the area, take a run down E. Beach St, it's a pretty view of Block Island Sound.

Yeah, I did a similar thing a few years ago and raced there. My wife had just started running (did some run out on Block Island) and I did the 5's race as they were packing up the gear... so I at least knew to check to see if anything was going on.

Mikey rolled by me as I was pulling out of Battenkill in the car last year. That's as close to BF cool as I get. :|

Of course, being the first person to drop trou in a Porta-Potty can be no picnic either. I had that blue stuff splash all over my cheeks and balls once. It was awful. Left a blue tint on my ass for a couple days.
