The rep contacted me, he was very friendly about it, and told me to contact him directly when I get the last point so he can expedite it.

I'm not going to push it any further, it's just one point which I'll get sooner or later, and I'll be racing 40+/45+ for all the races on my schedule, so it doesn't affect anything really.

i was climbing in the drops, and suddenly i pull the right drop portion clear off of the rest of the bar. I held it for a while and stared at it thinking "wut. how did that happen". Local shop should be able to get it in before the end of the weak, and ill just use my back up bike for a bit, or i could use a set of handlebars i have but haven't used yet (FSA's traditional bend bars. Don't know if i want to. I really like my rotundos)

damn. suggests that you probably have good core strength and balance. lots of people would have gone down in that circumstance.

Rev and tenton: Yeah, crashing would have been bad. I ended up calling my dad to come and get me. I didn't want to risk my bars breaking in a different spot. It's a bit annoying to have to deal with broken gear, but it's the name of the game when you ride your stuff.

I just dropped the bike off at the shop, and am having them swap the bars from my ridley onto my venge for a bit, and then when they get my replacement bars in i'll put those on the venge. Good thing i didn't go to my race today, otherwise this seemingly harmless situation would have ended a million times worse.

Today on the club ride a new guy sat on my wheel for the last 45 minutes, or so, and at the end he said following me was like "riding downhill". I didn't bother to ask why he didn't take a turn.

a cat 5 in NJ crashed today and was Medevaced to the hospital. Apparently there's a neck injury and he needed surgery to relieve swelling to the brain. We had two deaths at races last year (one in race, and one warming up), so these things hit kinda hard.

Which race? Newark Crit? I mentioned to cdr today there were a couple of cat 5s with way more stength than pack skills, one tried to take the apex of a corner at the bottom of the hill and I went over the wooden plank covering the grates. And one in the middle of the pack took a drink and swerved a good two feet.

Hate hearing about crashes at any level. I realize it's part of the sport, still don't like it...

Had an awesome on and off the bike. Things are looking good and I'm feeling good.

Of course that might be the coffee talking! I drank way too much of that today
