I just did our Sunflower State Games again this year...I've taken Gold in my class 3 years running now.
There's not much for competition though. Only one other dude in my class, lol...w00t, fr00t???
This years trail was 4-4.5miles and I raced the age 30-39 Sport class which was 3 laps. My time was about 48:59. The other guy came in at 63:08. I got stuck behind some silly local girl that cost me prob. 30sec/1min just b/c I wanted to be nice and let her go for a while...finally I had to pass her, so she got outta the way. (trail was mostly singletrack)
I thought I was going to suffer more than I did...I got to the last climb and still felt fine, so I knew that I had ridden a little conservatively. Oh well...I don't race enough to know what I got left in the tank sometimes
The last two years has qualified me to race the 30-39 Sport Class in the State Games of America in 2009 at the Airforce Academy in Colorado.
Not sure if I'm gonna do it yet...we'll see.
