Campagnolo Cogs
I was looking up Campy Cogs and I came across 12TA-1P, and 12TA-2P. I think I know what the A designation is [I'm pretty sure it means how many teeth the chain can jump], but what is the 1P/2P designation. Again, just curious. Thanks for any info...

1st position or second position?
The TA sounds more like 12 Teeth Aluminum??
Correction, the A is the position, the teeth are cut in a different way and in campy cassettes you have A, B and C position... low/middle/high in the cassette.
The difference IMO between 12TA-1P, and 12TA-2P is that the 1st one is for a cassette starting in a 12 and the second is a cassette starting in 11 so the 12 is second Position.

On Campagnolo brand cogs the letter 'A' indicates how the shift ramps and truncated teeth are oriented rotationally with respect to the mounting splines (since the introduction of 8 speed Exadrive there's been only one way to install cassettes).
Different cog combinations shift best when the correct sequence is used. For instance, there's 21A cog after the 16A-17A-19A sequence; 21C which follows the 18C-19C combination; 21D behind 20D; and a 21G flavor which continues 15A-17G-19G.
I followed a 13A first position cog in the 8 speed era with a 14B and noted sluggish shifting compared to the correct 13B-14B or 13A-14A combinations but couldn't say how that works now.
