The parts are not original but that is immaterial. This is a very solid deal; pick it up before someone else does.

$120 for a Trek 560 upgrade to 8-speeds?
A No-Brainer if it fits. You may want to buy a new cassette with road gearing, unless you live in the hills.

Around here, the frame alone would go for the asking price. Parts are a bonus, and although not matched, still some nice bits. Go get it before someone else scoops it up.

Yes it is a very good buy the frame set in good condition with original paint is worth the asking price or a bit more. While a mix of stuff the parts are all pretty good and worth a couple of hundred. I would say the bike is worth around $300-350 as presented if you want this one you better go fast it won't last long.

Looks like a 58cm frame, for a 5'9"-6'0" rider. Why am I coming at this from a different opinion? I like the Trek 560, as a mid level go fast bike, but would make a poor commuter. Also for a noobie, I am concerned with the following:
- Poor cosmetic condition of the paint.
- An apparent parts bin build with virtually no matching components. For example, how is the short cage RD supposed to handle the triple crank?
- If the OP has the knowledge, spare components, and expertise to maintain the bike, of course it is a very good deal price wise. But if they require LBS help, keep looking.
Here is mine, bought about 2 years ago for mid one hundreds.

Franken_trek in Cali for 100+- seems like a deal. Take on a spin as could be shot or well worth the price depending on headset/bb/wheels. Looks like 24in/61cm that was ridden hard and/or stripped. My 88 version has 1000s of commute/pleasure miles but totally different tubeset/components. the 88 version is my favorite trek and I have ridden my share. Believe 88 is true temper RC gold steel.
