That's modern era from within the last decade. MSLP was around $550

Why do you think it may be a fake? This was intended as a modern model with retro styling. I did some more checking and it appears this color scheme was circa 2006/2007. Looks like plenty of changes from OEM too; wheels, handlebars, stem, predals, saddle, maybe more.

I agree this is a pretty new bike. they do go for stupid money on CL though. Personally I would not pay more than $300 if that.

The key is not how much a bike is worth but how much someone is willing to pay for it.

The only reason I would think its fake is because they are selling it on craislist. They want 600 and i was just wondering if it was a good price to buy it. Now is there a serial number somewhere on the frame to make sure its real?

+1 Newer Pista frame, full of random components. I would not pay more than $200 for this ugly thing but someone looking for a 'sweet fixie' will probably pay 400, 500, who knows.

$600 is a terrible price. As T-Mar said, MRSP was about $550. Again, why would you think it's fake? It would probably cost more money than it's worth to fake something like this. A professional paint job with all those decals would cost hundreds of dollars. This isn't a vintage bike, it's only a few years old. I see no reason why someone would go to such great lengths to fake a bike like this, especially to only fill it with such odd components.

Looks like current pricing on the 2012 model is $730. So, I imagine with a little diligence, the OP may be able to find a new 2011 (see pic) at an LBS for around $600. The question then becomes whether the changes to the CL bicycle appeal more to the OP than the stock version.

If the OP can get a serial number, I can check to see if it matches one of the numerous known Binchi formats, but I seriously doubt it's a fake.

Actually I wouldn't mind a roll or two of that 'Chunky Moda" tape

To the OP BTW when I had Fixie / Single Speed itis a few years ago I took the cheapo route. I could not stomach the idea of spendinf 600+ on a SS that would see little use. I ended up with something from Bikes Direct for half what a Bianchi would have cost, and I am very happy with it.

You should posit this question to the SSFG forum on here, you'd probably get more replies. However, this bike is neither classic or vintage, if that's what you're wondering. It's a modern, mass produced Bianchi Pista, and I can't imagine why you would think it's fake, as there are so many of them out there that are completely legit. This is not the kind of bike anyone would try to pass forgeries of.
