Bianchi Help.

Hello, my name is Marc.
By default, I am an avid mountain biker, but have always loved the look and feel of a nice road bike. Anyway, by the luck of the draw, I have ended up with this road bike.
My wife and my 2 sons all have mountain bikes, but because of some financial hardships I no longer own a mountain bike, so a friend of mine gave me this Bianchi so that my family & I could all ride together. He was a racer, and bought the bike new from a local shop but could not remember any of the details. I am contemplating selling it so that I could buy a mountain bike & thus make it easier for my family to keep up with me , But there is something about this bike that I have a very fond feeling about...It calls to me in the middle of the night. As far as I can tell it is a 1999 model (Is there a way to tell for sure?) I am trying to figure out what it is worth, and then to decide on weather or not to become a roadie or go back to the roots.

Group Set: Campagnolo Mirage Everything but front derailleur which is Campagnolo Veloce, bottom-pull/braze-on
Rims: Campagnolo Mexico 68, Campagnolo Mirage hubs
Seat post: Selcof, 27.2mm diameter
Headset: 1" Miche Team
Stem: Syncros
Handlebar: ITM Super Europa 2

Bottom bracket is stamped 275 on one side and A500582 on the other.

Any help please & thank you.

No idea of the value, but it looks like a very fine road bike. In my neck of the woods, old mountain bikes sell for cheap. Maybe you can pick up a cheap old mountain bike for riding around with the family and keep the road bike for longer rides.

Pretty sure it's a 1996 https://www.bikepedia.com/QUICKBIKE/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=1996&Brand=Bianchi&Model=Campione%20d'Italia&Type=bike Here in Seattle I'd say between $350 and $500 depending on condition. The stem isn't stock but the other major components appear to be.

Thanks...I appreciate the help and I am not really arguing with your experience. My only question is...the guy that gave it to me said he thought it was a 1999, so...that was my starting point & I have done a little research using bikepedia. Seems the 96 only came in Green or Light Blue, mine is Celeste. I also see that the 98 had ITM Super Europa handle bars and then in 99 they switched to ITM Super Europa 2 bars.....that is what mine has...can you date a bike like this? Using the components as a reference? Also the headset on a 96 is Campy Mirage, mine is a Miche Team. The only thing that didnt add up to me was the Campy Mexico rims.
I dont think its a big deal, definatley keeping the bike at this point, I just wanted an idea of the year.
Thanks for your help.

Cheers...

There wasn't a "campione d'italia" in 1999, only a 9-speed "campione" https://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/the-bianchi/1999.htm https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...&Brand=Bianchi The "green" in the 1996 is likely short for "Celeste Green" and can be seen in the 96 catalog https://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/the-bianchi/1996.htm It's a pain to read but it's the one marked c-d-i w/ "mirage"

Looking at the spare parts catalog you can see Campagnolo changed the aesthetics of the shifters between 96 & 97 and yours look like the 1996 version see pg 36 https://www.campagnolo.com/repository...spares96-B.pdf and pg 44 https://www.campagnolo.com/repository...spares97-B.pdf
