1983/1984 Schwinn paramount

I have to opportunity to buy a one owner 1983/84 waterford built paramount. It was repainted at some point and the decals were changed. There are also some rust spots on the top tube. Full dura ace group including seatpost and stem.

How much would you pay for this machine?

That's a heck of a nice Snap On toolbox behind the bike. Given the repaint and I'm assuming a Columbus SL frame, IMHO $500-$550.

It is a mix of SL/SP from what I can gather and from what the owner remembers. And yes the guy has a nice tool setup for sure.

Prices above are strong IMHO for a bike with rust issues and the need for a repaint. Hopefully you guys are right, as I have a 1985 to sell this year (SLX frameset), in pristine condition.

Figure a picky buyer is going to strip it, deal with the rust, fresh paint and decals. So he is going to drop another $500, probably more into the bike. At that point, he has a 1980s repainted (not original) Waterford Paramount, and is over the $1000 mark.

You should be able to make those earlier figures pretty easily with a part out.
