Thanks DD....this was the bench I got last year and I love it. Seriously heavy butcher block work surface, power strip, lighted...it's perfect for bike-sized projects and smaller.

Thanks for all the replies and ideas, they all have their merit. I'm going to wait for the latches I ordered on Amazon to arrive, I have high hopes that they'll fit. My next-best is the bungee cords and eyelets, but I have my doubts about the ability of them to hold that much weight when tipping the bike into a corner, I would expect some issues with load shifting. We shall see!

There are 1 or 2 enterprising young lads who obviously can't get a job selling $7 beers at Tiger Stadium, so they try to sell during a Slow Roll ride. Problem is, they're such boneheads, they bungee the Miller case to their rack and expect the flimsy cardboard to hold their cans during a bumpy 90 minute ride.

Besides, who wants warm beer?

Thanks for the link, Mark. I can even add a vice (for Ergo work), so that's another plus. Looks just about the right size for my current application - and it's on sale right now

Ha! Good eye; yeah I have a couple of these. You never know when you might get caught short.

Indeed you can. I added a small one to the front left corner of mine, you can place it just right so that the nut and washer combo doesn't foul the drawer. Even the drawers themselves are on ball bearings, a really nice touch. The damn thing weighs a ton, it's very stable once all set up. Her's how it fits in my cave:
