Any Opinions on Ross Professional?
Has anyone had experience with Ross Professional road bikes? My memory is their bikes were more beginner grade but the RP I found for sale has very nice parts and I am planning to see it this weekend. Any advice would be appreciated.

Most of the ones you'll find are the Gran Tour (usually black) and the Super Gran Tour (usually gold). The first is basic with steel frame and rims, and the Super has nicer parts on the same frame, as I recall. Both will have the hideous and brittle "safety fork ends;" if they look crooked do not attempt to straighten them. If you find one of the nicer Signature bikes it is more desirable but there are also various grades of those and some are much nicer than the rest. Good luck!

Everything I know I've learned from Bikeforums so this is hardly authoritative. But the Grand Tour model name from the 70s bikes carry over to some nicer 80s bikes. If it has the rectangle head tube decal and the model name in script on the top tube it's a later one. Look for a tubing decal on the seat tube. For example see this post by user @old's'cool where the blue bike is from the mid 80s but still called a Grand Tour, and is nice enough to have a better-than-hiten fork
