Raleigh bike

How can you go wrong? Has incorrect bars, but has the thimble fork. May not be an English-built Raleigh Sports. Wheels are probably worth more than the asking price.

Well if it floats your boat and it doesn't self combust in your car on the way home you can't go wrong for $10

Well photobucket is being all stupid so I can't do decent pics, but here's a lugged Stumpjumper that looks pretty original, asking $200. Not my thing, but someone else should buy it before I do for no other reason than it's a lugged Stumpjumper. hahahaha

Here is a NOS 1974 Raleigh International, out of the box, and with the wrapping paper removed just last month. It's a time capsule.

1974 Raleigh International Bicycle Campagnolo 23.5" THIS IS NOS!

I have no idea who would want this or be willing to spend all that money -- $2,995 -- on it, but it's interesting.

Lugged stumpjumper, like Giant Iguana, is one of those bikes I'd buy just to get to say the name.

"Yeah, I rode my Giant Iguana this weekend."

I had one of those as a kid! (Giant Iguana) I giggled at the name every time I rode it. Was worth every penny.

Aren't those what Peter Weigle likes to use for rando conversions? I wonder if he'd consent to doctoring up such a pristine frame.

Yes. I suspect he'll do whatever you pay him to do that is within his skill set. I believe he has a waiting list of work. I guess you're asking if he would refuse to modify something so pristine. I don't know, but if I were in his shoes, it wouldn't bother me. I might enjoy it. As others have said here before, something is NOS for only a moment.

I can't speak for Mr Weigle but that would be the boneheaded move of all time. It is insanely rare to discover a top end model literally still in the box in brand new mint condition. I'm not particularly purist at all, but you'd have to be crazy to butcher this one. Save the rando conversions for old beat up bikes that need new paint anyway.

So apparently we differ in opinion...

57cm Italian Road Bike(Columbus SL frame) - $300 [Denver]

This (link) has been sitting on Denver CL for a while. Mish-mash of parts, unknown Italian frame powdercoated red to make it faster, etc. Could be a nice deal, but a bit small for me.

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to the builder? I don't think it's SL since there is no cross-member on the chainstays, more likely SLX. But who knows. Best pics for ID below:

Ad copy:
Unknown manufacturer
Columbus SL frame
Italian threaded bottom bracket
Brand new powder coat from the Bike Shack LLC in Lakewood
New Tange stem
New bar wrap
New Tektro brake levers
All new cables and housing
New brake pads
New chain
New handle bars
New seat post
Terry Firefly saddle
Bontrager R3 700x23c tires
Shimano 105 brake calipers
Shimano 105 6 speed shifters
Shimano 6400 front and rear derailleurs
New headset
Italian bottom bracket
126mm rear end
12 speed
Pedals and water bottle cage included
All bearings are smooth
Wheels are true and round
Completely restored two months ago
Rides amazing and frame is gorgeous

Which is why it'd be easy to find a weatherbeaten one that Pete could convert and repaint for you, and for a lot less than $2400. I've committed some crimes against much lesser bikes and don't care who knows, but NOS examples of any high end bike should be left original. I certainly wouldn't mess with it.

Panasonic Tri bike - $200 (Roseville, MN)

18 speed Panasonic tri bike for sale. I really love this bike, but it's a little too big for me. I think it's supposed to be for someone who is 5'7 or 5'8. This bike is great for long rides and training and is a unique model. The one main difference is that the gear shifts are not on the handlebars. Tri bars and water bottle holder included.
-------

Gear shifts not on the handlebars, so that likely says this seller is not familiar with more vintage bikes but this might be nice bike. I'm not to aware of what is being offered here but it might be worth looking at.
