carlton frankenbike

This guy is selling a used Carlton frame that has been frankenbiked with what look like random parts. I've been trying to figure out which frame it might be; I can't see a tubing sticker, but I do see what I believe are nice (campy?) forged dropouts. Any guesses on the original frame model, or links to relevant Carlton catalogues?

Thanks

The dropouts are Zeus.

My LBS has a green Carlton frankenbike. Neither the owner or I can figure out what it is. It has Nervex lugs and Zeus dropouts. 531 tubing would seem plenty plausible, but there are no markings on the steerer tube. It also has a strange braze on that is tapped for a bolt of some sort. Lever operated FD shifter? It's likely the braze on was added later.

If it was my size, I would have bought it.

Even some of the nicer Carltons had stamped dropouts, so I'd guess one with forged Zeus or Campagnolo dropouts would be a good one if its really from the 60s. My Carlton Flyer has Campagnolo dropouts, my Franco Suisse has stamped. For a point of reference, the late 60s Raleigh Competition had chrome Nervex lugs and Zeus dropouts.

What are they asking and what size is it? I've always liked Carltons...

Looks familiar, but I'm not sure of the model - Carlton Kermesse or International seems to spring to mind. I'm sure this guy would know: https://www.carltoncycles.me.uk/home.htm

Quite a bit, unfortunately. $150 is the asking. If you're still interested, I can help facilitate.

I've got a Carlton Frankenbike. It came with a 26.4mm seatpost, the same as my Super Course (also made by Carlton) so I figured straight guage 531. I took it apart a couple of weeks ago and found WELDED SEAMS inside every tube. 531 won't have that.
I wonder if you could poke a flashlight in there and see the butts if it was butted 531.

My '59 has stamped Cyclo dropouts. I've never been able to figure out what model it is. The lugs are Capella. The fork is from a '73 Raleigh Competition. Don't let that throw you off.

True, but in that condition, with a non-original fork, I'm not so sure.

Grand Bois, that's a beautiful one.
