I have it in black on an off-topic bike. I like it mainly for how thin it is and how it looks. It suits me because I ride with my hands on the brake hoods most of the time. But if that's not your riding style and you log a lot of miles, you might want a tape with more cushioning. There really isn't much with Microtex.

My tape of choice -- I have it in white, red, and black. Best tape I have found. Not as cushy as "cork" but I really prefer the harder grip and I wear gloves.

I use Fizik microtex on most of my bikes, but never the white. I'm a big fan of the red. The feel is great. Last year, I forgot to bring my gloves when riding the 100K D2R2, and even after a hot, sweaty day of intense riding, my hands felt fine.

I've been rocking the white on my daily rider for some time. It is indeed the best, IMO. I have the electric-y blue on my racey ride and am just as happy. The white stays white. Excellent.

I run Microtex on most of my bikes...I run a layer of Wilson Super Soft tennis grip tape first (on the tops to the hoods) and a piece of 18-23c innertube on each drop first as well.

No pics...
I tape my cables down with electrical tape (aero or Ergo levers) then I add a layer of Wilson tennis racket grip from the center of the bars down to the lever body on both sides and tape it off as well. I cut a length of old flatted inner tube (700 x 18-23c size) to length and slip it over the drop portion of the handlebar (like a condom) on both sides...then I wrap the bars as normal.
OK?
