Not sure Mr. Rossin would approve...
…of me trying to convert this bike into something a little more practical. This is the first time that I’ve used such a flamboyant color scheme. Part of me really likes it; part of me, not so much. I’ll be interested to read your opinions.
I didn’t want to make a full parts list, but I am proud of the wheelset. They are my first wheel builds. Mavic OP rims/DT Swiss DB Champion spokes/Ultegra hubs/Vittoria Rando 28c. I thought I was being clever matching them with an 8spd cassette with a 28T low cog. That’s until I relized that the Superbe Pro RD wasn’t designed to reach it. I set the limit screw to the 7th 23T cog for now.
One sees so many spectacular bikes on C&V, this place is certainly a wealth of knowledge and talent. I, unfortunately, am just a laid back garage monkey with a love for bikes.

If you were thinking it's overdone, it's not. The accents work very well with the Turquoise frame. The white aero hoods and wheels look good too.

For a Rossin, that one's pretty subtle. And very nice. There's something about a Rossin that screams "don't do it quietly!" And my deep metallic purple one (to be finished in the next two weeks) will be a prime example of that.

If that's your definition of flamboyant, man oh man, you should really add some more color to your life
The bike looks fantastic, really classy and well done!

Gorgeous bike, and the brooks just really ties everything together. Sucks about the Superbe Pro not getting that last cog though.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Building bikes is fun isn't it. Almost as fun as riding the bike after your done. Some bikes are more interesting to think about the build of than others however. This has been one of that I really enjoyed thinking about. Trying to tweek to do something a little different from it's original purpose is interest to me.

A dear friend of mine has a Rossin Ghibli that looks like it belongs in a circus parade. Your color scheme is simply beautiful.

Your bike looks very cool. Really dig the yellow straps, nice touch! And it's certainly not too outrageous for a Rossin.
I added some mildly over-the-top handlebar tape on my recently restored one. Seeing it's Rossin, it just seemed appropriate and "so 80's"

I was going to let it go because the post seemed to be dieing a natural death. But; since every response addressed the color scheme (proof that I am not a very succinct writer), I thought that I would take the opportunity to clarify that the title had to do with me putting a modern wheelset with 28c tires, barcons, and a comfy French saddle on an Italian race frame. The color scheme was something that I would not have considered a couple of years ago. I think looking a so many bikes on C&V has opened up my mind to what is acceptable. Although, I still don't get the Miami Vice Centurion. I guess I still have some work to do.

I love the color scheme. Thanks for not going overboard with it...I'm all about the more subdued coordination.

Very nice! I like it too. Combination of colors work well, and the bike retains a classic appeal. Results indicate you're more than a garage monkey.
