Any clues about what this frameset might be
The frame came with a late 1960's-early 70's TT set up.
Has Zeus drop outs and no braze on's, apart from a cable stop on the rear stay.
It had a head badge, which is 6cm from hole to hole.
Numbers on B/B are r/h side E5650, l/h side 139
Let me know if you have any clues.

Yes. Either that, or it's a 1970 Carlton Professional...again, with the chromed fork ends painted over.
I doubt it though. That #139 stamping makes me suspect that it's #139 of the limited run of 500 1970 Mk II's. Of course, the Mk III's were identical...

P.S.: I'm pretty sure the Carlton catalog photo wasn't updated when they upgraded the Carlton Pro to fastback stays; hence the earlier design represented in both the '70 and '71 brochures.

Thanks for your thoughts, unfortunately I have been down both of those paths, but the head badge holes don't match. Real shame, I would have been very happy if it had turned out to be a Raleigh pro, I have always wanted to restore one.
