Motobecane Grand Touring split-tube mixte, but what year?

Good morning! I bought this bike off CL last week and I don't know how to figure out what year it's from. Could anyone help me, even if it's just pointing me to another link. Thanks!

Legs, I think you have a mid to late 70's edition of the Grand Touring. I'd peg it at 1977, just because thats sort of what I remember. Sweet bike, enjoy it.

Hi Legs, there's a date code on the back side of the cranks and derailleurs. It'll be two letters or a digit and a letter, something like that. You can decipher the code at this site. Very cool bike!

Thanks for the help! I'm actually at work right now, but when I get home tonight I will check for the date code. I assume that this is the "champagne" color?

Just add a MINIMUM of one year to the date code. My 1979 Grand Jubile has all 1977 components. Apparently, Motobecane did not believe in "just in time" inventory control back then (maybe Suntour didn't either). Looks a lot like a 1978.

Just got home. According to its date code, the derailleur is from 1977, making this a 1978 (or 79) Grand Touring according to the component plus at least one year formula provided by wrk101. (Just in case anyone else was interested in this totally boring, easily-solvable mystery.) Now I'm off to do some more Googling.
