Cane Creek S-2 lost lock ring

Would anybody have the lock ring for a Cane Creek S-2 1" threadless headset. Mine is lost, don't know if it fell out of the box or never was there before it was sent. I think it's also called a split lock ring. You put the fork in and then the bearing and then the piece I have missing and then the cover and spacers, stem, and cap. I have looked online for parts and can only find Dia comp lock rings and I dont think they will work. Trying to save the $30 for a new one because I will have a good one just missing the lock ring. Do all the brands use different styles so you can't switch parts. I'm new to threadless headsets and the first one I work on is missing parts. My local shops are little help, they tell me they just throw old parts in the trash.

Cane Creek calls the part a compression ring. I'd try contacting Cane Creek's customer support and explained what happened. They claim a 10-yr warranty on their Aheadsets, and boast about exemplary support. Put them to the test, since the S2 is out of production. They just may send you a replacement ring gratis.

Thank you. I looked them up before but they don't list the parts. I did not think about trying a guilt trip, will do.
