(I like both their Tech Wax and Cleaner Wax).

- Of course it's essential to start with a very clean surface.

You won't use something that works because there's too much hype? That's ridiculous.
There are pleanty of other good products on the market.

Maybe he's saying the hype brings a high price. What is as good -- or nearly as good -- but costs less?

Not to be argumentative but that's the most contrary reasoning I've ever heard. If a product is good, I use it. Who cares what anyone says about it, positive or negative.

Sorry noglider, that's not what he said. If you find a product that works for less money that totally makes sense but not buying a good product because everyone loves it is senseless.

It's that line of reasoning that kept every other derailleur company in business while Suntour had the slant parallelogram patent.

You'll know what I mean about the hype if you read car magazines, go to car shows or watch car related tv. They even have their own tv show now (Car Crazy, hosted by Barry Meguiar).
In the factory Mercedes owners manual, its the recommended product line to use. Does that make it the best? Not really but like to think its a good endorsement. Anyhow, getting back to 'cleaner' waxes of any brand. Have to be careful using over water applique or even some adhesive backed decals. Could prematurely damage the surface or long term damage from the oils.
