I know that buying a forum subscription kinda goes against the C&V "cheapskate" mantra....but believe me it's worth breaking that rule in this case! And you only have to deal with it once a year.....

You guys have to pay every year for a membership?

I bought the lifetime one way back. I've never seen ads on this site.

I find that after a couple of days, Firefox starts eating up about 4 GB of RAM, and everything with my computer seems to slow down (I have a bad habit of opening more windows than I need).

Close and re-open Firefox, and everything seems to be ok again (for a while).

You-Tube seems to be one of the worst offenders for making the computer slow, and I never leave a page that had YouTube on it open for longer than I absolutely have to.

Get into Add-Ons and clean out whatever you aren't using.

Someone will probably point how I'm wrong here (quite likely) but I say don't blame BF. Blame the inventors of HTML5. Everything (Did you say everything? Yes. Okay, continue.) takes (Did you say takes? Yes. Okay, continue.) so much (Did you say much? Yes. Okay, continue.) interactive communication (Did you say communication? Yes. Okay, continue.) that web (Now what? I'm looking for a plural noun, senator. How about books? No, something smaller. How about pages? Yeah, that's it. Okay, you can have pages.) pages (Did you say pages? Yes. Okay, continue.) load (Wait, please refresh before continuing) slowly (Wait, I said refresh before continuing) <refresh> Everything takes so much <connection lost>

Got the old "lifetime" red star membership back in 2008 when I first joined the site, BTW it wasn't a lifetime duration, I believe it was listed at 17 years, or something weird /similar, off in the future back then. I went to the titanium membership when it came out so I could support the site, just my choice. It is worth the slight cost, I have been through a cycle now and renewed it on time (auto renewal.) For what I get here it is pennies wells spent. Also, isn't the use of ad blockers against the rules of usage? I seem to remember some threads about that and some arguments about how it could ever be enforced except by the persons sense or right or wrong. Never mattered to me as I hadn't heard that, or was using adblocker, it slowed my system, strangely.

Bill
