my neighbor told me this is a px10.
it's just like the one eddy rode in '69, but without the decals and ti stem.

From 1967 on Eddy rode Masi frames in PX10 guise. So that's probably what we have here. Genuine PX10s had always chromed fork ends.

It would be hilarious if this was the same seller who earlier chastised us "blow-hard morons" for questioning the straightness of their UO8's fork legs.
There's a seller in Cameron Park California who of late has been selling such a UO8 on Craigslist with such severely-bent-back fork legs as to make the rider use "short" toe clips.
I could be wrong, so perhaps these are all really foreign-market variant PX10s for sale, and where new-bike dealers perhaps performed "high trail" fork modifications for safer use over unstable road surface conditions(?).
You know, the "black-market" shipments that went to Cuba, N. Korea and the USSR back in the '70's, and competed all-too-successfully with Favorit-branded bikes.
It was only a matter of time before the global supply chain brought a few of these secret bikes over here.

When I tell him that his fork is badly bent, and that I do not think it can be straightened, and that threading it for his frame is a waste of time, he holds it up, looks at the fork, looks back at me, and says quite seriously, "That's how it was made, you don't know what you are talking about. Let's get started, I'm in a hurry to get this bike together."
He finally found a shop not far from us who threaded and cut it for him for cash payment. The best part of the story is that about three weeks later he came in with a stolen bike flyer. Someone who apparently knew even less than him had stolen it from a spot outside Rubicon.

SPoiLer did sell the bike for $275 as a supercompetition, Vintage Peugeot Super Competition 'Record Du Monde' Bicycle | eBay
The S sold the bike with good reason to know it was not what he said it was.

...see, I just assumed one of the guys here who was all "Oh NOOO, it just could not be a real PX" probably bought it, after dissing it publicly to keep the bidding down.

Is there way to report these? I started to go through the reporting process, but no category really fit a listing with an incorrect description. Is willful (or at least ignorant) deceit permissible under Ebay ToS? I thought you could complain to Ebay after the fact that an item is not as described.

I suspect Ebay is not motivated to care about this until perhaps a complaint and refund request occur.
At that point it becomes a ding on the seller's records that Ebay no doubt keeps track of.
But until then, Ebay is happy to collect their fees.

So, I'm still confused. I'm trying to match my recently acquired Peugeot to the USA Catalogs on bikeboompeugeot and the closest match I can find is the 1979 Super Competition PX10LE. But, the top tube has only a "Comptetion" decal.
The specs check off but only thing that doesn't is the fully chromed fork on mine. Btw I hate the aesthetics of the handlebars, stem, and seat. Although they are both comfortable.
I like the bike and how it rides. Haven't done any work to it. The seller said it was her grandma's bike

I think it would make more sense to start a new thread, rather than have members sift through an old one to find your question.
