It's Been 3 Weeks
And I cant seem to get a ride in to save my life. The first week was due to personal reasons I couldn't avoid. Week number 2 a hurricane rolls through takes out our electricity for a week, and we end up staying at her parents waiting for it to come back on. Week number 3 its been pouring down rain here every time I think about riding.
I'm really missing riding and hopefully I can ride tomorrow. With the days getting shorter and dark earlier, I'm going to have to come up with some compromise to get out earlier.

It sux, doesn't it? I've had the same problem, after being out for 6 weeks with a broken rib. Now I'm ready to start back riding and things keep happening which take away any bike riding time.

It does suck. The problem is it isn't normal rain, its a torrential downpour. I'm not going to ride in conditions like that due to visibility and cars not seeing me also. Hopefully tomorrow will work out.

Wow fast89fox and I thought I was going crazy here in PA. Broke spoke on Saturday and cut ride short, bike to shop Sunday morning to get fixed, was advised because of high miles chain needs replaced this is why I was jumping gears. No problem but he stated about 100 miles or so and it should be changed, rained Sunday off bike, same on Monday rain, and Tuesday bike to shop for repair and full tune up it rained again, as for the rest of the week according to the people that get paid to lie to use known as weathermen it is to rain off and on, but we do ride if it is not down pours or storms. Now we had no rain today and most likely tomorrow no rain, but on a bright side should have bikes back by Friday and wife's bike is in also for crank noise (bearings I think) so I guess ++ as we have long rides coming up in the next few weeks but man do I miss riding and it only been four days could not imagine 3 weeks or more.. Hope you get out tomorrow and if you do have a great time.

Thanks. Hopefully tomorrow, but looks like could rain again.
Chef I guess I need to HTFU because honestly, I really don't want to ride in heavy rain.

I haven't ridden in a couple of days. Today moved gravel at my sisters house, spreading it on her driveway. Grunt work. I did miss riding but I only have so much energy.

Rain aint nohing
Living in Seattle, I spent the last 8 months 75% riding in the rain. I even bought a +1 bike for the rain as my Roubaix was getting trashed with the constant wet/grime earlier in the year. I now ride my Trek Fx with mudguards when its raining.
Embrace it - seek out the right gear (lights etc) and the right clothing. I actually prefer the rain now over the heat

Round these Eastern parts, it's hard enough to be seen by traffic, without making it doubly difficult. Motorists seem half blind on good days, let alone downpour days* and not expecting to see cyclists at all, here.
* seems we don't get "ordinary rain" much anymore, just floodloads or nothing.

Tired of making excuses. Bought an indoor trainer.
But a real ride beats a ride on the trainer, any day.
