How did you know that I looked like the little guy in the icon in #45?

I am Perigee

Reply to #48. Although I have built a recumbent, I am not the person that you are asking about. The little building in my Avatar was a small bike shop in Miami named Perigee that I worked at back in the early '70s. The van in the picture is the original Campy race support vehicle in the US.

Come try our mountain rides which at certain times of the year, (when the Santa Ana winds are blowing), have elevation gain and 35 plus MPH winds. Now that is a fun ride, NOT.

I hear you, but at least hills end. For the record, I think part of it is mental too. When you're riding up a mountain, it's obvious to your eyes why you're suffering. When riding into a 25 mph headwind on a wide open flat stretch of straight road, it screws with you. You look ahead and think "I should be FLYING right now!" and instead, you're crawling along at 8-12 mph. YUCK!

Ah - I thought I was onto something.
