Not going to make it to even 100. Every day, the last 2 days of the forecast is warming up for weeks now. Finally I think tomorrow is the day the cold is gone. I got 2 rides in though on the constant hilly roads so both rides were less than 10 miles and I got a cold 30° 5 miler in last week (40 is my limit, I don't have clothing for cold riding.) I'll probably ride tomorrow for just an hour but want to see how the new bike does on the bike trail on distance in an hour compared to the Walmart mountain bike. Then it's rain for the rest of the month. I won't even reach 50 miles.

If it happens to not rain on Saturday, Wifey is taking the girls to a wedding shower all day, so I have the entire day to myself. I'll get to see how I will fare longer than my limit of an hour and a half on the old bike. Probably the same since all I have is regular street cargo shorts to ride in. I'll try to beat my 26 mile distance record so far if it doesn't rain.

March 2nd -- 22.4 miles, 1,001'. Snowed, rained, hailed, and windblown. What a wonderful start!!
March 4th -- 20.5 miles, 877'
March 6th -- 18.1 miles, 1,228'. For once, it wasn't brutally windy in the canyon
March 8th -- lots of vertical feet, but skiing is cheating
March 9th -- 42.6 miles, 3,770'. I almost logged it as two rides, just to get out of bumpy territory and into hilly.
March 10th -- 21.5 miles, 928'
March 13th -- 17.7 miles, 1428'. Over the crud, looking for new segments and not finding any!
March 14th -- 3.8 miles, 305' before I had a weather induced fun failure
March 15th -- 15.2 miles, 1,358' in 25mph and gusting to 50 winds. Then it snowed. F the wind to H.
March 16th -- 40.2 miles, 3,283'. The long way to do my 21 mile ride, without doubling it
March 17th -- 14.5 miles, 1,181'. Winter is over. We are fully into Wind
March 18th -- 17.8 miles, 869'
March 21st -- 21.5 miles, 955'. Nice gentle cruise to get over being in SoCal.
March 22nd -- 22.6 miles, 1,532'. A brief calm day to cruise up the canyon
March 23rd -- 22.4 miles, 1,073'. Surpassed last years total mileage; almost surpassed the feet climbed
March 25th -- 21.5 miles, 964'. Surprisingly quick charge down Tramway, despite the traffic lights.

330/320 miles
21,329/20,000'

Haven't had to do this in a very long time, but needed to call for a ride home. Half way through my commute home the sky turned ugly black and opened up with torrential cold rain and hail. Windy too. I was soaked, cold and 11 miles from home. My cell phone was making the funky alert sound too so I took cover in a store and called home for a ride. News said a small rare for CA funnel cloud touched down just north of where I was. Strong winds pulled a few tiles off roofs and caused other minor damage on a couple of homes not too far away from where I live but fortunately nothing major.

Got home and jumped in the spa to warm up. All was good after a beer and a few minutes in warm water.

Twenty two miles for the day and 732 so far this month.

Tried commuting on my old mountain bike*yesterday in heavy rain, got all of 3 miles down the road and said f**k this and turned around for the car.

I noticed something wrong on my last commute (Wednesday) and decided to clean and tune up my bike. Ended up replacing a chain, rear brake pads and cable. The cassette will probably need replacing by next year. Wasn't expecting these items to wear so quickly (only had the bike for a year). Lubed it up, and went for a test ride to make sure everything was OK.
40° + 12 MPH crosswinds + rolling hills = 2 miles

3/28: 6 miles (mountain bike in the rain, found out commuting in heavy rain doesn't interest me one bit)
3/29: 2 miles (test ride after fixing up my hybrid)

MTD: 363 miles (goal: 400 - may JUST make it)

I now have 20 rides for the month and 377 miles.

Yesterday I scored one for the old guys. I caught and passed two twenty something guys on a cat 4 hill. Can you imagine how demoralizing it was for them to be passed by a geezer on a mountain bike?

Looks like you hit your monthly goals as well. I just need to run a few more miles to check off my list.

I did it! Had to drop off my road bike at the shop yesterday after my long ride for the weekend (60 mi.), but I still had like 1.5 miles to go for my goal. So I hopped on the mountain bike and brought my daughter to the park.

Here's my stats:
