If y'all haven't seen Active Junky, check that out too. Added cash back in your Paypal account. For Nashbar it's 10% (eBates is 2%). I'm shopping for a Diamondback MTB and for the corporate site they do 3%... there are a lot of discounts to stack on a Diamondback right now.

Well, in a bout of insomnia I went ahead and bought the MTB that I've been eyeing. The deal overall just seemed too good. I know some got it for less when the deal was 30% one item but it's still a pretty steep discount. I suppose time will tell if it's a good bike.

So what's the catch with this Active Junky thing? What am I giving up to get a discount?

Someone was bragging on Conti Ultra Sport II tires on another thread, and when I looked them up they were already discounted PLUS the 25% off, and I've been pining for 28's anyway so Nashbar got to me after all. I know the "180 TPI" is really 3 ply of 60, but still $12 each ...

Naturally I had to buy something else to get to cart total, so I doubled it for something else that I wanted but didn't really need

If you find it, LMK. So far it hasn't been as intrusive as eBates is with cookies and add-in

But be prepared to wait about a month for them to process a return and make an exchange.
I have a Nashbar steel cross bike. Amazing deal when I got it on sale. My first one cracked, or rather, sheered in half in middle of the ST. It was just over a year old, out of warranty, but they took pity on me. That was one of the matte hunter green ones.

It was replaced with a candy apple red one. Great bike for the price. I use it to commute sometimes and it's officially been designated as the wife's touring bike...they we have yet to go on a bike tour together. Some day, some day.

Well so much for this thread! Nashbar has a banner ad saying they're not doing % off sales any more. The prices are all now very low. The Active Junky rebate is 1% and the Ebates is 2%

What a strange thing to advertise. Taking a leaf from JCPenny's book - remember that national ad campaign with customers screaming at the clearance signs? Resulting in sales plummeting into the abyss as you'd expect from alienating the core customers, stock prices plunging, CEO getting the ax ... or maybe the Nashbar folks re-invented this on their own.

If their new pricing is just what the lowest prices used to be, then its a win- they will get the sales #s they were getting and people wont feel the need to wait for a specific day that ends in Y to buy what they want.

They still have ton's of items at % off listed all over the front page. From what I have read in that banner they are doing away with the promo codes. No more remembering to enter a code for more discount. What they list is the best you get.

The way I read it, there's no more "waiting for a good sale" like the 25% off site wide, or the 30% off one item

Active Junkie is at 15% for Columbus Day. I guess no sales is relative
