My hat (or helmet) is off to you northern guys. Here in the Florida panhandle it was in the mid-40's and wind 20-25 from the NW when I put in 14 miles today. Brrrrr! I don't know how you do it up there where it is really cold.

1 hour on the rollers @ 110-115 rpm followed up with getting back to the core and resistance training which I detest. I know that core strength is important and does allow me to ride faster but some of the stuff my coach assigns, sheee!!! I told my wife that I think he is training me for the circus. What person in his right mind would assign a 57 year old man to stand on a 10lb medicine ball then lower himself down and do a squat then back up all the while balancing on the ball? And then there is the push ups with a each hand on medicine balls and both feet on a medicine ball, and palms out pull-ups with the legs extended, and ....

Cirque Du Soleil here I come!

46 miles out in the orchards and now-fallow fields. Just enough sun to keep the chill at bay.

A meager 13 miles in 20F weather with an 8F windchill. At least I got out!

57 miles today, 77 degrees, almost no wind, rode a flat route. Went to Shoreline Village and took a break at the light house. Lots of friendly people out, tons of dogs. As a reward pick up some Rib eye steaks, went home grilled them up, baked a potato, had warm cherry pie with vanilla ice cream. Life is hard here in SoCal, Only the tuff survive.(what, another piece of Pie? sure, why not).

25 miles this morning: 30f, 16f w/the windchill, sunny! Surprisingly, I was comfortably warm. Just me and the group leader again (her and I make a very small group).

37 miles, sunny, 72 degrees, slight breeze. Only had 3 hours in which to ride. Decided not to go to the beach, it was 64 degrees(burr) there. Went to the foot hills where it was a nice 74 degrees. Weather is nicer this month than in October. This may call for another piece of pie.

I find I have a distinct lack of enthusiasm for cold weather biking. Good thing I live in Florida but that blasted cold front is all the way down here, low 40's today for a high with a gray overcast and a 20 mph north wind. I made it 3 miles to to say to myself that I did something. I really don't have appropriate clothing for this.

It's a lovely morning along the Colorado Front Range today. It was about 9 deg. C for my 13 Km (one way) ride to work. Mostly calm, possibly a slight tailwind, but it's hard to tell when it's gentle.

We've got a few clouds now, but mostly sunny. The forecast is for a little wind this evening that will be a tailwind (west wind, and evening is my uphill direction) if it happens.

We've been Lake Effect-ed! 15 miles from my home got only 3". I wimped out and canceled our Thursday night ride and stayed home and did the dreaded core and resistance training.

Following directives from my tormentor, I did ride today, in the basement on rollers for 1 hour @ 110-115 rpm. The roller ride to nowhere was followed up with, "the new this year", core/stability exercises needed to develop my mad circus skills. By May I should have the balance of a 13 yr old Chinese gymnast and the abs of some hunk on a calender.

Damn, the things I have to do to keep ahead of Louis.

It finally made it into the 40s (5-8C) today so I HAD to get out for a ride. First ride in almost 2 weeks. I managed 22.1 miles. Only saw 3 other cyclists.

Overcast and cold (60 degF) today, but my wife and I toughed it out and did about 24 miles on the tandem. 45 mile day tomorrow when the weather should be better

A little bit of on road, a little bit of off road on the Mercurio folder. Temps in the mid-70s. A magnificent, sunny day! I wanted to ride forever, but alas...

Beautiful day in the mid-60's. 41 miles, 2000' of climbing. Doesn't seem like much climbing, but it really kills our average speed on the tandem. The next two weekends we need to get in some longer rides with a century coming up on New Year's day.

Moved indoors during this exceptionally cold weather. Doing about an hour a day on the trainer.

I managed to squeeze in a 20 mile ride on a mix of dirt and paved roads amongst a busy day of chores and family outings. Looks like the last decent day for a while. I hate it, but I'm going to have to start hitting the gym and the trainer to keep any level of fitness going. The long ride opportunities are becoming too few and far between.

Today was one of those rare days when I have no desire to ride -- thanks to housework, yard work, and Christmas looming (and back to work on Monday). Putting on the bike clothes and getting on the bike felt like a chore. So we took a short 1.5 hour ride ride, including a climb on Baldy Rd. That climb is getting easier! On the way back we passed a street with a steep incline and saw a guy (who looked at least 60+) riding up on his mountain bike. Hubby's Garmin reported 16% grade and we rode a ways before turning around. Another hill to add to my bucket list.

In a word, No.

We're having a blizzard today: 8" of snow, winds to 49 mph, temperature dropping to -8 F and the interstate is closed due to poor visibility and drifting snow. No biking today and it doesn't look good for tomorrow, either.

Very warm here and I did a century with some people who are too fast for me, plus it was windy all day and there was 6000 feet of climbing. I drank at least 180 ozs and still came home 5 pounds light.
