I went on an organized 86mile ride (w/6600 feet of climbing) in Easter Missouri on Saturday. Air temps around 98 degrees, road temp according to my Garmin 103.3. Pretty insane for the first week in May. At mile 67 both my legs cramped. It felt like someone was hitting my legs with a baseball bat. It was a bummer to say the least. I thought I was drinking enough and taking enough food and electrolyte replacement foods, but clearly not. I think at least half of the riders that started didn't finish the ride (me included -- had to sag in for the first time in my life).

My usual 30 miles at the wilderness park. Got a late morning start (around 9:30), so the temps were already in the mid 80's. Nice 11-12 mph wind kept things somewhat cool during the ride but it was still hotter than hell.

I got in 21.7 this morning, nice day here in New England. Expecting crummy weather for the next few days though.

Took off all last week, just to many things to do. I felt great to ride again, great day, got windy towards the end. 75+ miles.

Cold, Rain, Wind, no ride for the wife and I today! Alas the weather gods found out my wife took a few vacation days and as usual, turned ugly!

I rode the Masi on my commute today. The leg in to work was the best thing about today, except for the leg back to the train station.

6600 feet of climbing is a lot of climbing if you haven't worked up to it. Just saying... It hard to say what goes on inside of these bodies. I know sometimes I am the hammer and sometimes the nail. Lots of times when I am the nail, I have no idea why. What was the humidity? That could be a huge factor too. Don't take it to hard is what I am trying to say.

29 wet miles to work at a comfortable 62 degrees. Rain pants have a 12 inch tear in the bottom. Discovered buckets> left my rubber gloves untucked outside of the rain coat.

12 mile dirt road loop on the monstercross rig. I managed to get the ride in between rain showers, but the roads had taken a good dousing just before and red mud was slinging up like crazy.
This is the 9th day in a row I have ridden.

16 miles yesterday. Nice cool ride.

30 miles today. Started out into a mild headwind and at the turnaround I still had a pretty respectable avg. On the way back in I passed a couple of dozen folks pushing into the wind going the other way. Thought I was storming on with the tailwind and keeping it at around 19mph. As I was mentally patting myself on the back and having fun waving at all of the folks struggling, a guy comes around me and passes me like I am tied to a post.

Serves me right for getting cocky! Still a good ride and better than average pace for me personally.

After completing the 30 Days of Biking, plus May Day, I took 5 days off for a multi-day business meetings, and rode yesterday and today. Fresh legs+fresh attitude=satisfying rides.

No ride yesterday as it was my one day a week, "no ride day." Today, my best friend showed up at the MUP with his beach cruiser and decided to do a lap with me. It was like the tortoise and the hare remake. After he left, I decided to do my normal 30 mile ride and got rained out in one of Florida's famous "rain with the sunshine" storms. Got in a total of 26 very wet miles for the day. Now I have to clean my bike before tomorrow's ride.

13 very windy and kind of cool miles today. I just didn't feel very well, maybe because I exceeded my caffeine limit. Spent most of the time composing names for my rides on Strava.

24 miles today, still building a base yet I still averaged a little over 14mph on my 520. Haven't ridden in about 4 years so it is a long climb back. There is a 200k brevet on the Denali Highway in a couple of weeks I hope to do. With luck it will be +50 degrees.
