25 miles this morning before heading to the folks for Thanksgiving Dinner. Nice and sunny - good day to ride.

28 miles on a soggy crushed limestone trail, and a stiff wind out of the west. But at least it was sunny and 45! Felt good to get outside and off the trainer for something other than a commute.
|
We got together for a team ride, four current guys including myself, and one rider coming over from another area team. It was an easy ride in the cold along an unorthadox route along Hilliard, Mills, Stoney Ridge, Miller and then Lake Rd back to Lakewood. The first miles were awful because I rode to Spin, and we stopped for 10-15 minutes and my hands FROZE and I had to warm them up. It was Hell.
38.78 miles at a 18.2 mph average. |
25 miles yesterday before turkey time and 25 miles this morning. found me some nice short rollers down here in Southern Illinios (Waverly). tweaked my left IT Band a bit so took it easier today. for me this is the latest i have ridden in my season. good times. later.

11/28 - 20 miles
Out at noon, back at 1:30. Nice & sunny low/mid 40's. I&M trail was a little firmer today, add a stiff breeze out of the west and it was a good workout. I'll be out again Saturday and Sunday, four in a row this time of the year, WooHoo! |
11/28.......Have a buddy of mine in from Pittsburgh for the weekend. He brought his road and mtb bike with him. Today was road day. 32 miles. Not to chilly but a steady South-South West wind blowing pretty hard. Very pretty day. Tomorrow we will hit Ray's MTB park.
|
28.9 miles in 1 hour and 35 minutes. The wind was bad here, too. I finished with five lovely miles into 29 mph gusts (according to the NOAA website). The outbound portion wasn't quite as fun because the wind hadn't picked up yet. Basically, I got none of the benefit and all of the suffer.

11/28 - 27.1 miles
Rode to Channahon. I & M Canal Trail a little soft mainly where sun hits it more otherwise still rideable. Ran over a small tree limb over the trail (damn beavers!) about a mile west of I-55 which messed my steering up and the seat but was able to straighten the handlebars and tightened the seat and continued on to Kerry Sheridan Grove. Probably my last good ride of the year but we'll see how December goes. |
21 miles today, got a late start w/a little over an hour of daylight left, headed straight south, then west, right into the wind. Couldn't wait to turn around. Those shadows were amazingly long, and it was nice to see the sunshine.

Training ride today, I'm debating doing a B-Ville ride tomorrow.
60.02 miles with a 21.3 mph average with a few hill repeats. A pretty Chainless ride. |
4 hours at Rays today.....
|

11/29 - 25 Miles. Another real nice day.
Really wanted to do 40, but had get home and do chores. 11/30 - 20 Miles. Mid 30's, overcast, snow / sleet. Paid for the last three nice days this morning. |
Did a couple of rides while down in Florida, including a 9-mile ride with my brother who has never gone more than 5 miles before. Weather was pleasant and the riding was nice. I sure did fall out of cycling shape quick, too much running I guess. Oh well, I have a full winter of trainer and roller rides to make that up.
|
ohio weather is not nice today!
|
couldn't take it today, got up at 6:00, did 15 miles on the fixed gear, soak and wet, cold now I have to dry clean the pearl izumi jacket. gotta love ohio

My trainer and I bonded this morning

12/1- finally got a ride in. 33 mile night ride. Went through the industrial valley to downtown and then to lakewood and back. The snow started to hurt my eyes, but otherwise a pretty fun ride.

I had a great biking day. I did about 20 miles total. Rode to the Metro station in the AM in the pitch black. It was great. I had my bike all tricked out with some new LED lights (Tire Flys) and got quite a few stares from people standing at bus stops. On my way home in the evening, the weather was about 50 and perfect for biking. I was able to crest up this hill and catch a most awesome orange and pink sunset as the bluish-gray rain clouds moved out. It was a moment when I was so appreciative to be on my bike, because these are the things you just don't notice behind the wheel of a car.
|
I only managed 12.8 miles in the cold rain before I turned back. I was totally warm, but I just had no desire to ride.
|
I went to the gym today and over did it on the squats, now getting out of my chair is a task!
