So for 10 days I did no training -- JRA. This past Thursday, I went to Roger's Sessions at the velodrome to do intervals and I felt surprisingly good. Good enough that some of my teammates commented and good enough that I was able to complete the entire motor game. Today, I rode my TT bike for 42 miles and felt reasonably good. Tomorrow I'll be at the same race that VanceMac is doing except I'll be in the 55+/60+ race. I'll follow that with a complete lap of CicLAvia.

Saturday, 2 hours of endurance with MEA. It was a beautiful sunny warm day in NorCal with temps in the high 70s low 80s.

I was supposed to do a fast group ride yesterday. The alarm went off at 0500, I looked at it, turned it off, and went back to sleep. I had been getting 5-6 hours of sleep a night, ended up with 12 hours Friday night and at least nine last night.
Today - 2:27 at endurance pace, with 6x2' VO2 max intervals in the middle, five minutes RBI. The first three intervals were done with the wind, then I turned around into the wind for the last three. The last interval was downright ugly - not only was I about done, but I did it into a buffeting headwind with a bunch of cars passing. Watts were all over the place on that one. TSS 171, IF .83, 1427 kj. (Hey, that means I can afford a piece of cheese cake!)

Did a decent recovery ride today, almost 14 miles, and the legs felt just fine. They still do, even after being on them from noon to 1730 volunteering in Sea Otter merchandise tent (our club gets reimbursed for our time). It's been a good weekend!

1.5 hours on the TT bike with some z5 high cadence efforts. Our weather continues to be beautiful. When we started on the TT course, the temperature was 74 degrees, sunny with light winds. The average temperature during the workout was 82. I saw some Facebook posts complaining it was too hot and a couple of recreational cyclists had to take refuge in the shade of a truck to cool off by our car.

Weekend in Grand Junction with my girlfriends. Neither races right now, though one used to, and the other much slower. Lots of endurance miles and climbing, great scenery, for 3 days of 250/200/210 TSS. Did a couple of hard efforts in the middle of day 3 and day 1&2 had some tempo. Probably not a super effective training weekend, but a ton of fun with my friends.
Next weekend is my first road race of the season!

Took today off work to take care of stuff at the house, so I got a chance to ride in the morning. Really pretty morning for a ride - ~48 degrees when I left, 63 when I finished, sunny, no clouds, little wind. 2:01 at endurance pace, 135 TSS, .82 IF, 1311 kj.

Recovery ride on TT bike on the TT course. I am spending so much time on the TT bike or pursuit bike that I am thinking about getting a sleeveless jersey.

Wow. I post several months of boring training routines and no comment. Post about a sleeveless jersey and Racer Ex posts a pic of one of his man dates.
I will stay with sleeved jerseys and keep my tri guns under wraps. I do not want to give my competition any more info than they already have.

One winter morning before sunrise I was dressing for a ride. I usually dress in the bathroom so as not to disturb my wife. I had put on my knee warmers, baselayer, and armwarmers but hadn't yet pulled up my bibs. My wife opens the door to use the toilet, looks at me and says "Rocky Horror."

1.5 hours on TT bike on TT course featuring a cocktail of kilos and tempo shaken but not stirred. The tri guys are starting to wave at me. I need therapy.
