It's not too late, Hermes.
You gotta think of your family.
Back away from the tri bike.
That's it.
Nice and easy.
We're just going to take you to a nice quiet place where we can talk.
Now just put your hands behind your back for the nice officer.

Flying 300's on the track last night followed up with some starts. We actually had a 70 degree day! The 20 mph wind was not so nice but riding in shorts and a SS jersey was very nice.

Only 30 minutes for me. On the trainer. It was too cold and raw out.

I see that look a lot on the TT course.

Some of the tri guys may get their fashion ideas from this.

Next weekend is my first road race of the season!
Riding with girlfriends is like ladies night out. Nothing better!

Good luck this weekend - kill it, girl...

1:09 at endurance pace, with 3x3' LT intervals included as a warmup for 3x8" stomps, five minutes RBI. I was concerned how the phlebitis would affect this workout, and was ready to ditch it if there were any problems; there weren't any, thankfully.

A cold front passed through today, dropping a good bit of rain. The road I ride on parallels the Mississippi River levee; the dirt in the levees is sandy, and some washes into the road with a hard rain. The road was still wet with occasional puddles, and in no time both the bike and me were coated with grit. I winced each time I hit the brakes, and occasional grinding was coming from somewhere on the bike when I pedaled. I almost needed a shovel to clean out the shower when I was done. The poor bike could've used a cyclocross-style washing afterwards.

Never saw that as a training schedule.

Hit the local TT practice tonight -- its 3rd installment this year, my 1st -- amid winds blowing NNE-NNW 10-15 mph w/25 mph gusts -- the road goes E-W and then reverse. Certainly not my best time but faster than this time last year, despite my continued lack of training.

Within 2 min. of crossing the finish line I had the worst exercise-induced asthma coughing fit I've ever had; no inhaler (doh!) and 20 min. cool-down riding to get my HR under 100 bpm.

Thus training begins...
