Its funny that you mention this. My Felt is a road bike but I finally after two seasons on the frame with no cockpit changes have the fit right where I want it. I make max power in the drops, and lose 5% or less on the hoods or in the IAB. My original Felt fit like a glove. This one has been a challenge. However my position is a lot more aggressive on this frame, and I wasn't exactly Fred on the old one.

Longest ride today since the end of November. 3:36, TSS 241, IF .82, 2497 kj. It was about 60* when I finished, sunny the whole ride. Of course there's a front coming through tonight, rain all day tomorrow, temps 30 degrees lower Friday when I have another ride the same length scheduled. It's been a relatively cold winter down here, but nothing like the Northeast this year!

VO2Max intervals are tough! (1 hour CompuTrainer training course tonight).

A few folks from my team are planning to be in Richmond, VA for the 2015 worlds, staying over 1 of the 2 weekends, and taking bikes so we can ride before/after the races. Should be a blast.

Just wondering if anyone here is planning to be there?

First real downturn in a while, but it's the end of a training block, so I guess I'm just getting tired. Wednesday's ride was 67 miles in 3:36, today's was 64 miles in 3:41 on the same route. Weather was different - 60s and sunny Wednesday, 41 and drizzling with a 10 mph north wind today. Team base miles ride tomorrow and another couple of hours endurance pace Sunday, and then it's recovery time. Today was hrTSS 225, IF .73.

Speaking with my coach today, she noted that I do unusually well after long forced layoffs, often setting PRs. She's giving me a full seven day recovery week - usually it's five days. She's also going to twist my arm more than she has been doing on core work and stretching, with a view towards getting me ready for TTs on the TT bike. And apropos the TT bike, I'm going to go back to the fitter and see what we can do to get me in a more UCI-compliant position, largely because I feel I'm too far forward on the bike.

We've had an influx of five experienced Master's guys on the team, which gives us enough people to consider team tactics. BBQ and beer after the team ride tomorrow, we'll actually have a chance to meet each other and start talking about it. Gonna be big fun this season.

Anyone have a TSS conversion chart for working 4, 10-hour days with 3 of those days being the facilitator for a group of 25 people in a process improvement workshop. Got home Thursday, passed out for about 20 minutes and then decided to go to the track since I hadn't ridden since Sunday's races. Felt terrible. Did both sets of intervals and skipped the motor game. Still tired yesterday. We'll see how today's club ride goes.

Valley of the Sun Stage Race is less than 3 weeks away.

Strange weekend, the last two days of a four week block that started as a three week block but was interrupted by life the third week. Yesterday was the annual team party, preceded by a team ride at base pace, and I was the designated cat herder for the ride. We managed to keep it to an average of 18 mph for 47.3 miles. Even at that speed, I was pretty whupped at the end due to accumulated fatigue. The ride was followed (as night follows day in Louisiana) by a chicken and sausage gumbo, boudin and copious quantities of beer. I was almost nodding off on the drive home, took a nap when I got there, laid around the house the rest of the day and went to bed early.

When I started out this morning I felt a bit rested. It was in the low 40s and sunny when I started, again rode 47.3 miles but on a different route with more climbing and finished a couple of minutes faster with a 26 watt higher AP and felt pretty damned good. My legs were definitely feeling the fatigue, but went when I wanted them to go. It was about 60 degrees at the end of the ride, and the last eight miles I had a fairly stiff tailwind - that doesn't happen often.

This was my biggest week in almost a year: TSS 802, with today's ATL at 114.9. Last February 22 my ATL was 115.7. Huge difference in CTLs, though - then it was 89, now it's 69. I maxed out on 12/7/13 with ATL 146.4/CTL 100.5, when I was doing a big base block. That hurts to think about now.

Recovery week next week, and I'm ready for it.

Got in two days of downhill skiing Friday/Saturday, 150TSS per day. Did a 70 TSS ride yesterday (60 degrees and blue skies), the riding still bothers the knee a bit though I'm sure cumulative fatigue and use played into that. I'm going with 92% recovered. The layoff drove my CTL into the garbage can.

Waiting to hear back from the doc on some questions regarding the back surgery. First road race in two weeks. Doubt it.

Back on the bike today after five days off. I was in SoCal for a convention, so while there I *** a sum total of 12 miles. I wanted to get the last *** out to 10K, but the pace wasn't there, and neither where the hips. I also ran into "old lady issues" where the ****ing caused me to hang on to every drop of water I consumed in the last week, like almost four pounds worth. I hate that, but it is what it is. Coach had me doing a "pyramid pace" ride today, stepped intervals, and they were hard but only because it was difficult to stay in the defined power range for each step. It would have been easier, much easier, on the trainer. I did what I could, though, and felt just fine.

Next race is a road race at the end of the February, unless I can sneak a crit or TT in somewhere. We'll see!

Glad to know you all are doing well and hunting and fishing and beating yourselves up!

I spent yesterday snowboarding. The good news is that I never really faded. My legs were strong all day. I quit when the ice started to pop up. The bad news is that I'm sore as hell today.

Two feet means two sticks on yer feet, not some skate board missing it's wheels

I never could get used to both my feet stuck to the same stick

I used to water ski. One board, two boards and a rope. Oh, and you need a boat. And your dad to drive it.

Hate it when you have an armful of 'boo and you catch an edge. Them things fly down the slope like a bunch of darts . Good thing we had the slope closed.

I'm going to get some fine-tuning done to the fit on mine tomorrow. I'm glad gas is $1.76/gallon. Also looks like I'm going to get a Stages Rival crankarm and use my Reynolds 66 tubulars vice the PSIMET wheels with the Powertap.

Six weeks until my first race, and I feel pretty damn strong. I have a ton of top end work to do, but that's to be expected. It's been a while. I'm definitely on for the NSG in Minneapolis.
