FWIW a lot of Master's athletes do best on a 2 on weeks, 1 rest week schedule, vs 3:1.
I am NOT saying I'm smarter than you BTW.
Medical intervals today. Pre screen stuff before surgery in a couple of weeks. Get the spine worked on.

I tend to think of a "W"that's falling over drunk backwards if one was to look at it. Increased workload for X weeks then a rest week. Increase again, usually starting at a previous week load, like week 2 of the previous X week 'block'.
So for my way of dumb thinking, your number will be different, there are just used as an example
Week 1 - 410 TSS
Week 2 - 420 TSS
Week 3 - 450 TSS
Week 4 - 460 TSS
Week 5 - 480 TSS
Week 6 - 500 TSS
Week 7 - 300 TSS
Week 8 - 430 TSS = greater than week 2 of the last block
Week 9 - 450 TSS
Of course I may be all wet like an 18 year old cheerleader at a t-shirt contest at spring break....
Others that are smarter than me, which is all ya'll, jump on in,

Knowing your pedigree you are smarter than I am. You've accomplished more on a bike than I can dream.

Read Training and Racing with a Power Meter and peruse the Training Peaks website. Plus search topics such as Training Stress Score and Functional Threshold Power and Andrew Coggan.

Strangely hard workout yesterday. 4x6' at 105%, each begun with an eight second Power Start (begin at 4-5 mph in the 50x11, then out of the saddle as hard as you can). I was able to do them, but had to push harder than usual. Usually that level for that time period is no big deal. The last one was the easiest, too, which makes it that much stranger.
Edit: 1:30, TSS 103, IF .83, 970 kj.

Back to back sessions totaling 2 1/2 hours inside. According to Golden Cheeter
first 90 min was 5x10 sweet spot with 5 rbi
IF 0.86
TSS 113
last 60 min was some whatevering 75% stuff with a few 3 min cadnece drills (+10 rpm over what I usually ride at)
IF 0.76
TSS 58
Followed by a plate of bacon and a bag of broccoli. Thanks @AzTallRider. Who knew one ride could change a person. Slowly getting there.

Today's workout was the exact opposite of yesterday's. Where yesterday everything felt really hard, today was almost a no-chain day. The assignment was 1:30 on the TT bike with 60-70% of the ride in Z3, so I figured I'd do an hour on the extensions at that power. I ended up adding seven minutes to that to make up for the times I was on the horns (drinking, turning around, being passed by a wide-load semi on a two lane road with no shoulder). IF for that period was .91, just over the line into Z4. Stats for the whole ride were 1:24, TSS 111, IF .89, 1078 kj. What was weirder was that nothing hurt. No sore neck, arms, shoulders, nothing. I'm surprised that this is going so well. Now I'm wondering when the shoe's going to drop.

Not uncommon Chuck. We take longer to get loosened up, and I've had nasty days in the saddle immediately followed by "no chain" the following day. Or days where I'm just hanging on and felt great at the end. It's the kind of stuff that drives coaches crazy. But you see that variability even in the best of the best, at least in the pre EPO/blood doping era.

Hardest day all week, 2:55 at endurance pace with 5x6' intervals at ~105%. TSS 190, IF .81, 1925 kj. 8:26 for the week, TSS 580. CTL is currently in the mid-60s, aim is to bump it up to the mid-70s by next month or so.
I'll probably double that TSS next week. Doing a home-based "camp": 17:15 on the schedule, that might get bumped up to ~19 hours. Rest week follows.

4 hours on the TT bike, with 4x10 Z4/Low Cadence tossed in before 2 hours of Z2. I rode out past Strasburg, (Racer Ex knows that place, I believe) and was having trouble keeping a low cadence. Turned around, and realized why, as the wind was howling. Did my work into a headwind, and got pretty intimate with that bike. I was pretty happy, as I was able to hang in the aero position for 75% of the ride. Sunday, I got to ride the road bike, and the wind was even worse. Seems CO weather always has a however.... We're giving you 70 degrees, however, the wind will be gusting to 50..... I would like to say I had a good time out there, but I just can't with a straight face.

That is a lot of hours on a TT bike. As Groucho Marx said to a woman with 12 children, “I love my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth every once in a while."
I may be getting over my cold. Today, I got up and my eyes were not sealed shut and I am not coughing plus I could hear my wife talking.
One of the beauties of social media is that if one ever feels bad about a personal situation, one can always read about someone else who is worse off and make one think you have an upside. A racer friend, who rode in the Tour of California a few years ago, posted on FB that he had thrown up 20 days in a row. And that was not from intervals.
Stay healthy... there is some bad stuff out there.

I hope you get to feeling better, @Hermes.
Groucho Marx is king, and well said. Sadly, the weather has been such that it's only the second time I've had the bike out in the air.

Selfies are almost as good as alcohol for getting people to do crazy stuff. Put the two together and it is nuclear.
I take out my iPhone and say selfie and the women jump in.
