Every so often I see a video that reminds me that I have no frickin' clue how to ride a bicycle. Not a new video, but it was just linked off Lee McCormick's site, so new to me.

I'll bet you could take the same corners as him at the same speed w/o locking up that rear brake like a nooblet gimp. I know that sometimes it's fun to skid for some people...I'm just not into it I guess.

Getting weary of the artistic videos that only show the rider from the waist up or cut out half the approach or run out on a sweet jump. First one was better than the "Hopkins at the Hootinannies" vid. I had to shut that one off.

(no offense D)

Just get tired of people axing the ride in exchange for the presentation.

Good soundtrack too.

I wonder why so many vid's are shot in the wet / mud lately? Probably showcasing the rider skill? It's really freakin' hard to ride some of that stuff in the wet. I'm really digging the natrual structures these days kinda like scrub.

I think a lot of it is because of location. Northwest has had one of the soggiest spring/summers I've ever seen. You expect coastal PNW to be wet but not the semi-arid Okanagan/Okanogan, Kootenays down through E Wash/N Idaho/E Oregon. There's still spring around here where it would normally be tinder-dry like CO.

Stevens Pass Open!

Stevens opened this past weekend. Stopped at the summit on our way home from B'ham and talked to a guy I know who said it's not all 100% open yet (snow) but it was still fun . . . and properly early-season muddy. An epic weekend in the Cascades.

Simply amazing, music makes you get that "spaced out clear head" riding feeling.

It's not. Guy is a fast Peruvian local and he's killing it. Wide angle and chest mount exaggerates some of the exposures but the gnar of the trail and speed are real.
