which to get?

I'm working at the local shop this summer and since I can't get paid b/c I'm not actually legal to work, I'm gone get paid in parts.
Should I get a P2 Chro-mo DJ bike or a 2008 SID Team for my xc bike?

Recon's a respectable fork for a 15 y.o. sport class racer. Not a featherweight, but it'll be smooth for a long time.

Save some coin for the SX

are those the only choices? tell them you want a road bike.

i would get the p2

you could probably sell the forks easier on ebay than a bike.

I don't know how much trail time you get, or how accessable they are, but I would go with a road bike to train on. Or a CX bike to train and race on. 3 mountain bikes and no road/cx bikes seems like overkill for you.

SID team: $450 at cost...
Alma 29er frame: a little over $800 shop cost

Quite a leap you made there? But if you can get it, go for it. That's a sweet ride. Don't forget you need to get wheels/29er fork/etc for it as well though...

I'd get the SID asap. Best thing since sliced bread.

I have a road bike with 105/ultegra.

ZeCanon-She said I could get the 26 version or the 29. I'd take the parts off my Salsa and put them on there. Or, get the SID put it on my Kona and have it drop down to a bit under 25lbs.

You're golden then.

I would get the 29'er, a set of AM Classic wheels, and build it up with the stuff off your salsa, and whatever fox/reba/sid-(does it even exist for 29"?). That would be a pretty ****** ride.
