Help!!!

Hi guys

i've been lookin around the internet for ages at different bikes and going into different store looking at different bikes but im really stuck! I want to start getting into mountain biking so im looking for a new bike but i'm kinda on a budget about 150-200£
I think im looking for a bike with front suspension and disk breaks - disk breaks because i never got on with v brakes when i was a kid i was forever adjusting them and front suspension because thats what i was told to get!
Does anyone know what sort of bikes i should be looking at - everytime i find out that looks right i read some reviews and it turns out thats its not so great an example is the Apollo XC.26SE at about 179.99 from halfords looks great but the reviews were rubbish
does anyone know of any bikes i can possible look at? anything would be helpful im finding myself go around in circles at the moment!

Cheers everyone,

Matt

Any bike for 200 with disk brakes is gonna be poo. Not necessarily the whole bike but a good portion of it will stink of sewer...

...I just haven't the energy. Use the search function for a while.

Hahaha, If you think Vs require a lot of a lot of adjustment. . . I adjust my caliper almost every ride. Also, try reading the forum FAQs

If my conversion is right your top budget is about 400 USD. I just bought bikes for my family. That amount probably won't buy a quality bike with the specs you want, not in the US anyway. Around my home, 600 USD is required for mechanical disc brakes and about 700+USD for hydraulics. Mech discs require adjusting just like older brakes from what I read before buying. If you want to increase your budget, I bought a Gary Fisher Pirahna for 720 USD which has hydraulics, that probably come with their own set of problems.
