Poll: Wide riser bars...

I'm thinking I need wider riser bars...I used my EA70's for XC when I first got 'em a few yrs ago...now that I built the Komodo, 26" is just a bit skinny. I'm trying to keep it in the $60 or less price range.

Drop bars, for sure.

Salsa Bell laps are super wide.

You can flip them for more rise.

Sunline.

but go for the lower rise version. Very, very nice. Tried them on one of the bikes, and shortly after got another one for the other bike. IMO, you can cut back on the rise when going to that much width with how it changes your position up front.

19mm rise, and 745mm wide.

More width will bring you slightly lower anyways, correct? If I'm used to running 1.5" rise EA70 at 26"...I wonder if I will feel "too low" with a low rise...?

Another for the Sunline V-Ones. I'm ordering mine this week. I'm going with the 38mm because everything else is so low already: the Syncros FBI internal headset is nearly zero-stack and the Twenty6 Boxxer direct-mount stem is nearly negative-rise. I'm not that broad-shouldered so I don't want my stance to be too low.

I must admit that the price on the Transition T-Bar 30 is mighty attractive, though. I owe it to Jason, though, to get the bars after not getting his stem.

Having trouble locating it, D. Does it go by another name...ie "Bulk", "Gain"?

Bulk and Gain names ended with '08 product pretty much. New designators are FR, AM (all-mountain) and FL (friggin' light). It's very brand new - - isn't even on my '09 product master list spreadsheet.

More info here:

Hell Ed, the only one I'm familiar with is the EA 70, you've had experience with it. Try something different.

Oh Don't know if 710mm is wide enough, but don't forget about Funn
