What's a lateral strap? What's a Saris? Why is this important?

I've had some issues lately with people breaking into my crap. (other threads)

Now someone has stolen one of the "side straps" that make the Saris Bones 3 bike rack laterally sturdy.

There are 6 straps -- 2 top / 2 bottom / 2 side

I'm down to 5 out of the 6.

I'm pissed and venting.

Sorry dude. I hope you get this issue taken care of. I can't imagine someone just taking one strap.

Call Saris, they will probably send you a new one for free. Their customer support is awesome

Yea I think that it fell off on its own. I would find it very very odd that someone would steal one from you. Unless someone thinks your a prick and is acting on a malicious plan to steal one strap from you. OR! It could be some S&M Hooligans who needed something new to bind them self with during intercourse!

Nope...I check it now and then to make sure they're tight. They're always tight. I also had the loose end of the strap tied. I don't know what it's like around your aread, but around here...kids just take things to be ornery. They would take bungee cords off my old rack and I'd find them half way down the block.

Faulty causal analysis - - it's bestowed on whiners .

But seriously, that sucks Ed. I've been known to take my Stealth off and laid it up on the roof rack to gain access to the back - - and sometimes wondered whether or not I should be locking it up there, but have been lucky so far. Maybe I should rethink that.

FWIW I've been relieved of small rack parts here and there over the many years...leave stuff lying around and someone's bound to help themself, but whining about it...

What was I thinking? You are all correct.

Thank you petty thieves for taking my crap...no longer will I whine. I will rejoice in the fact that I'm helping out some wannabe thug hold his baggy pants up 'round his cheeks.

I feel better now.
