The first part through the tress looked like the sort of trail it is a lot more fun to ride after three or four repetitions to learn the route and the roots and branches. The part where a random pedestrian almost walked into your path was pretty neat---nothing like a "Will I or won't I collide at high speed with a neighbor" section of a track to break the monotony of tree-slaloms and rock gardens.

Lucky you have such a place to ride right out your front door.

I'm new to mountain biking. Never been on a real trail, hope to go on one this weekend. The section I made through the woods is too narrow and tight. I'm going to widen up the second half and make the turns less sharp so it flows better.

Nah, that woods section looked great ... a narrow section is a pleasant addition to a trail (IMO only, of course.) It's just that I like to ride those sections a few times before I try to go quickly because if I get out of shape on one turn it gets worse fast.

Now you just need another 17 miles.

Nah, have fun. I like the wooded section.
