He could use a 26er HT or FS...but if he used a 29er it would have to be an FS . I would pick the course..about 50 miles.
Best e-race throwdown ever! You should also specify what he should have for breakfast. You know, just to keep things fair.

Hey, back when I was racing my SS, it was faster and more efficient for me to dismount at the bottom of some hills and run up it than it was to muscle up and fail anyhow.
I went to a cyclocross clinic yesterday simply to practice getting off the bike when the trail becomes too difficult.

Hey b2b-

You've been around here longer than me. Have any e-races ever materialized into the real thing?

If so, how's about regaling us with a tale........

Hike a Bike

I don't feel any shame when I have to stop driving, pull into a gas station, and refuel. So I don't feel ashamed when I run out of "gas" on the trail and have to walk until I have enough "fuel" back in my legs to go again.

I was ambling along a fire road one day, enjoying the breeze and looking at things while the bike's freewheel clicked along beside me. Many of the mountain bikers going up asked if I was OK. "I'm doing fine, thanks. Just enjoying the day." I walk to look at birds, flowers, views, avoid deep ruts, stay warm on long descents on cold days, get through loose stuff or any other reason. I figure it's all under muscle power so use what's appropriate to the conditions.

Sometimes it's the only way to get past those thigh-deep snowdrifts.

there always seem to be climbs that kick my butt; but if I keep at it ; I end up winning; but it may take some time. As long as I do better at each try; I don t feel bad. The Thing I know is when I win there is always a new climg just waiting for me ;to make me humble again.
Have Fun

Sometimes I feel like I've wimped out when I walk a technical section of trail, but it's usually only a short distance and reminds me that I'm pushing the edge of my skills. A good thing.

None that I'm aware of, just lots of talk. I think it doesn't come to fruition, mostly because being faster doesn't equal right, smarter, or better educated on the subject that started the debate.
