Prospect Park Moonlight Ride

It's cold, it's dark, you might as well come out and cruise around!
Sat (2/10) 9pm at grand army plaza.

I'm eating ribs nearby earlier in the evening and I'm driving *gasp* cuz I'm going w/ friends. Bring your HID cuz it's freaking dark in that park. If I've digested enough and done socializing and can get there in time, I'll swing by.

Too bad I didn't even discover this forum until today. How was the ride? I think this would be a blast.

Pretty good, slow and cold, but it was a nice ride at night too bad we didn't get to climb that huge hill that goes up to the look out at night, next time...

Are you talking about the big wooded hill by the lake? What look out do you mean?

Is it safe to do loops late at night there (after 11 or so?) Have a friend who was asking me.

I've done it, and I think from 9PM to 11PM is probably the safest time of the day. Most of the clueless wanderers have wandered home by then, leaving the road open with just a few riders and joggers.

If concerned, just suggest that he/she not to stop and hang out for a drink or a power bar. Ride in, Ride the laps, Ride out. No dilly dallying.

However, I went late saturday nite (around 10pm maybe), and all the lights were off so they could show a movie. Can't ride like that. End up nailing someone in the dark.
