Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

anyone have a greenspeed GTO near NH?

I am thinking of buying one, but I want to check it out in person, and if possible take a test ride. Sadly, the closest dealer is in rhode island, 2.5 hours away. I may have to make that trip in the end, but I was hoping somebody was closer.

Thanks.

You might want to post this request on BentRider Online to reach more trike riders.

I think that you should do yourself a big favor and take a road trip.

Even if you find somebody who has one that you can test ride, what do you have to compare it to? On the other hand, a shop like "Bicycle Man" in Alfred, NY, will have 60 to 100 recumbents of verious styles in stock. They also have a lot of recumbent bicycle experience so they are in a much better position of advising you about the style of bike, getting launched, transporting your new bike (trike) by car, and any other fears or concerns that you might have.

i am in hyde park masachusetts & have a heavily customized 54 gear greenspeed gto. my e-mail address is tricyclis t@rcn.com . once the weather gets nice you can try it out around the block. while harris cyclery in west newton (30 minutes away) can get greenspeeds, they only had one in the shop & tom deakins was not intrerested in selling me one. i can not claim to be an expert on recumbents, i am a experienced bicyclist. in august 2009

does anyone have a gto near nh

yes haff i do own a gto. you did not say were in nh you live, if you want come down to hyde park (part of boston),ma. when the weather gets nice we could work something out. my e-mail with which i am not really comfortable using is tricyclist@rcn.com but it is better to call me at (617)361-5273, my name is jacek, pronounced YAHTZEK. i bought my gto by driving out to wi i aug. 2009, even though harris cyclery in nearby west newton carries greenspeed t.d. said he did not have a catalog & blew a $6000 sale for the shop. when i designed this there not one to advise me. i finally designed a 54 gear bicycle with 22 useable gears (only 3 duplications), range 10.4" to 121.8". 27 speed derailleur & schlumpf mountain drive. i bought the custom cluster from harris cyclery & i bought the 67 tooth chainring from highpath engineering in wales. the 67 tooth chainring costs about $165, the 68 teeth or larger is $500 (egad!). you could have the hostelshoppe ship the trike directly to you or order it through harris cyclery would save you a trip out to wi., stevens point is a small town a & about the only way to get there is driving or bus.
