Recumbent trainer

I just bought a trainer off of criagslist the other day, and returned to find that it was for a recumbent bike It's a Bike E magnetic trainer. Right now i have it rigged up with a 24" rims, but I was wondering....Does it have any value?

I use my bike trainer with my recumbent all the time. Keeps me fit when the snow is too deep and ice badly rutted. Silly me, I get tired of replacing my derailleur.

Does it not work with larger-wheeled bikes? If so, then probably limited demand for the trainer.

It was designed to work with the 20" (406) wheel that came as the rear wheel on BikeE models. Somebody offered one on www.bentrideronline.com two years ago for $100 shipping included. The owner thought it would work on the other size 20" wheel (451) which means it is compatible with 20 inch trike wheels. How well would it work with larger wheels? Ask that question on bentrideronline as there are many more recumbent owners who read and post there.

Good for Bike Fridays

I bought one of these from Nashbar a few years ago. It was a Minoura and was a rim drive unit. I think it worked on both 406 and 541 inch wheels.

So, will basically any trainer work with a standard 26" rear wheel recumbent? My bike is a LWB so I'm concerned about stability.

I have a Sun Easy Sport LE (Aluminum frame).

I use my Looooong Wheelbase RANS V3 on an older Minoura MagTurboII. Works fine. Not aware of any unique issues of bent on trainers.
