Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Be carefu the parts which FUJI Bikes use

I bought a FUJI Roubaix 1.3 (2015 Model) on 15th Feb ,
from Taipei bicycle store ,

My complain is : BB Noise
the BB keep on happening extraordinary mechanical noise when pedaling, it started on Mar. at that time only ride about 300KM,

When Bike store disamble the crankset and inspect the BB shell I saw a piece of dirty greasy paper inside, it must be left in China assembling line because the words type is different.
( as attached photos)

After FUJI replace new BB I found the old one is broken which cause noise screaming. ( as attached photos)

Just when I tought prolme solves and noise coming again about May.,
when I check the bike I saw left crackset can be swimmed about 0.7 CM. and I only ride about 1000KM.

Now my bike is back to FUJI Taiwan distributor :
"ADVANCED SPORTS INTERNATIONAL- ASIA LTD"
for second time served within 4 months. and that's stupid.

I will never select FUJI bikes again and will forward those ifnoramtion to any one i knew and any bike forum I can found

Bad luck & mistakes happen to more than Just Fuji. I would not discredit an entire brand name based on that.
If they fix the problem, then that is to their credit.

P.S. 6 years and your first post. Congraulations

Sometimes bad things happen. Learn to live with disappointment from time to time and you'll do great in life. The world does not revolve around you and Fuji will probably not be affected by your bad luck and your consequent postings in social media and what not. Life goes on and so must you. Get a new ride and HTFU!

I'd go with a bike made on a monday morning. I've had two Fuji bikes and both have performed flawlessly. My next will most likely be another Fuji when I get tired of my Altamira.

This. Stuff happens. No manufacturer has 100% no issues with their bikes.

If the manufacturer makes it right by fixing it, then that is good. Unfortunately, this probably means a little bit of time while the bike is down.

I've seen much worse issues on these forums where the rider had a much harder time getting a repsonse from the dealer or manufacturer.

I had a BB problem on my 2015 Fuji Roubaix 1.1. There was no grease in there. Performance Bike fixed it up and no problems 200 miles later. I really like the Fuji line and I will likely stick with them for the next purchase, who knows.

As for that video you linked, that is loose because the bolt hasn't been torqued correctly. If this was after the initial repair, then Fuji is not responsible for that, your bike mechanic is.

I was full of anger because this is second time BB noise happen after FUJI replace new BB on Mar. I am not sure if crankset shaking is the root cause after I heard that noise again, but I wonder why all problems parts are from those without "SHIMANO" brand. When I try to email and describe problems to FUJI and request they keep promise to upgrade parts, ( the FUJI sales told me on the phone, if noise happen agian will upgrade crankset freely) , till now there is no answer and FUJI keep silence about it. So maybe public their doing will be a better way to let people know how they deal with their bikes and their customers.

Of couse FUIJ is not responsible for that if things like you said.

But true story is last time this bike was maintained on Mar. and replace new BB is by FUJI mechanics in the store i bought. After that, I only waxing my bike and pump the tyre till now.

Here is same BB noise from different country user of same FUJI Roubaix 1.3

Of course anyone who was impressed by FUJI Bikes quality can keep on choosing and supporting FUJI,
it's not my concern at all.

I also believe the issues happen again and again to my bike could be sort of bad luck,
and not so big deal becaseu this Roubaix 1.3 still can ride me to the run,

But if FUJI can't keep their promised compensate to customer,
and keeping silent to my "reminding",
this is something I won't accept.

Here is the first time I heard noise from BB of FUJI Roubaix 1.3 on Mar.:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7DA7EvpQ0o

Here is another one FUJI Roubaix 1.3 with same noise,
I was informed by his post becuase he was astonished hearing same noise with his.

I post it becasue I don't think I am the only one has quality problem of FUJI bike.
the possible causes and data from my offering,
might help other people to figure out what things happened to their FUJI bike.

By the way,
I believe the only way to make FUJI bike quality better is more postive critism from end user,
not more flattering wrods.

That was the same sound mine made and it eventually made that sound all the way around the pedal stroke. There was no grease on the spindle. It was removed and grease liberally applied to the spindle and bearings with no further problems over about 200 miles. You are doing the right thing by making them fix your issues. The loose crank arm is likely because they did not torque the spindle bolt to the correct specification and it backed out. If it persists, they need to use some type of thread locking compund. Best of luck!

Actually the bike store did grease on the spindle when hearing sound months ago,
that's their first action but it did not work out,
therefore FUJI brought a set of BB as replacement,
then we found the original one with broken line.

I wish FUJI Bike can figure out noise again,
that's all I need,
I don't expect they file a defect report or explain me details root cause,
even I think that's best for both,

I am really wondering why similar issues happened twice wtihin 3 months,
and it almose come from same part.

Since the bike will be sent back thse days and I will test it again by hard pedaling and climbing.
By the way, I am 190 punds 5'4"
