Simply making suggestions. I also believe that the 3T stuff is quite a bit better then Easton. Build quality, options, ingenuity, design, aesthetics, etc. As a Cervelo owner, the 3T products are perfect for the bikes, functionally and aesthetically (see fatallightning's build above). Maybe they work close with 3T given they produce their forks now.
And given such a nice bike, the extra money spent wouldn't be much at all in relation to the R3/Red gruppo build.

2004 Specialized Allez
First ever post here, and my first ever road bike.
Used 2004 Specialized Allez I bought second hand on Craigslist to get into cycling.

Gouge Away
Just finished the build and took a quick shot as I was on the way for the initial test run. The ride was great, but short as darkness was closing in. Can't wait for tomorrow and really see what she can do. Hope to post some better pics soon.

koga.com they have a nice site where you can build up the bike. They only offer Shimano - no SRAM or Campy stuff. The Company is in Holland.

Hey guys
New here, I bought my first roadie a few weeks ago.
It's a Soma Smoothie with mostly Ultegra bits on it. It now has 105 pedals, not the flats in the pic. Better pic to come once I clean the damn thing.

People notice EVERYTHING on this forum. I love my Allez, which I also got used off craigslist. Enjoy the riding and try to get a real seat or cycling shorts. Using those gel seat covers is OK for a recreational ride but will make you super uncomfortable pretty quickly on the road.

While on the top, I've been reading quite a bit online about most people seeming to really HATE the stock Allez saddles from this time period. Any advice on a good replacement saddle (without really knowing anything about my "sit bones")? I've never been fitted and, as this is my first road bike, I've never ridden with any other saddles.
