Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wasn't me... I've never been on that one. Been on a few rides in Ponte Vedra with Champion Cycles though.

How did you come across a 1981 Chris Chance bike?

Believe it or not, on Boston's Craigslist. And in my size. And....after I sold the Casati and random Campy bits I bought with it....or free

Sourcing the parts took about a year though.

Here are more pics of my new 2011 Specialized Allez. It has a compact double, shimano sora shifters, shimano integra derailer, and shimano sora front derailer. Just put new Maxxis Detonator tires on. Heres the pics.

I'm not typically a fan of matching tires to the paint - I prefer to stick with black - but that Allez looks sharp with the yellow tires. Maybe it's because there's only a little yellow in the frame/fork so it's not so bold. Regardless, it's sharp.

Here's my latest incarnation(s): Scott Addict SL

After a fitting, I needed to adjust setback and stem length/handlebar reach, so I switched:
Schmolke TLO bars for Ritchey Superlogic II Carbon
Extralite UL3 stem 100mm for Extralite OC stem 90mm
SP31 XX-light seatpost for Provibe carbon post

Also changed were:
7900 11-27 cassette for sram red 11-26
time iclic titan pedals for exustar 200ti
lightning crank for zipp vumaquads w/ fiberlyte chainrings

I also got a set of hed trispoke wheels for my birthday- they're over a pound heavier than my edge wheelset, but they are fast, fun to ride and they make the coolest sound when riding. 11.46lbs w/ the edge wheels, 12.57 w/ the hed wheels.

Not sure what order the pics come up in:

Holy........

wow. I've been waiting to post my new just sub-15# Scott CR1 SL (it needs a bath before taking pictures) but now, I think it would just feel too fat next to your Scott. I can't afford to make it lose any weight, though.

Nice Addict (understatement of the year). What size is that?

Please tell me that's like a size 48 or something. There is no way something should be that light. That's sick!!!

Here's mine. Only had her a few days but she's been a revelation to me, my previous bike is about 20 years old.

Posted previously, but now a better shot, with hopefully a BF-Approved background instead of inside my apartment. I don't have a garage door, so a white wall will hopefully suffice.

I know it's a 'cross bike, but I mostly ride it on the road. Full Dura-Ace 7700, picked up a nice steel Serotta fork off of eBay for the front end that I love. Really smooth ride, very light too (for a full steel bike).
